Verify Your Credentials Before Applying
Pennsylvania requires Nursing Assistants to hold a valid CNA certification on the state registry. Confirm your certification is active and transferable before submitting applications, since WellSpan will verify your status through the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry during hiring.
Target WellSpan Facilities With Active Openings
WellSpan operates hospitals and outpatient sites across south-central Pennsylvania. Search by specific facility rather than the company name alone, since staffing needs vary significantly by location and some sites carry more consistent Nursing Assistant demand than others.
Ask Recruiters About Sponsored Visa Categories Early
WellSpan has sponsored candidates under H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT pathways. Raise your visa situation in the first recruiter conversation so they can route you to the appropriate HR contact who manages immigration filings for clinical support roles.
Understand EB-3 Timelines for Permanent Sponsorship
If you're pursuing a Green Card through WellSpan, EB-3 is the most common pathway for Nursing Assistant roles. The PERM labor certification process alone can take 12 to 18 months, so discuss this timeline with your employer contact before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Nursing Assistant Roles
Nursing Assistant openings at WellSpan cycle frequently and aren't always easy to track. Use Migrate Mate to browse current visa-sponsoring positions at WellSpan Health, filtered specifically for healthcare support roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare F-1 OPT Documentation Before Your Start Date
If you're on F-1 OPT, WellSpan will need to complete E-Verify within three business days of your start date. Have your EAD card and I-20 ready before onboarding so your work authorization is confirmed without delays in the hiring system.

Find Nursing Assistant at WellSpan Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WellSpan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursing Assistants?
Yes, WellSpan Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Nursing Assistants. Because H-1B requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, WellSpan typically structures these positions to meet that threshold. You should confirm with the recruiter early in the process that the specific role you're applying to is eligible, since not every Nursing Assistant posting is structured the same way.
Which visa types does WellSpan Health commonly use for Nursing Assistant roles?
WellSpan sponsors Nursing Assistants under several categories, including H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT. For permanent residency, EB-3 is the most common pathway for clinical support staff. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations. F-1 students doing clinical rotations or post-graduation work often come through CPT or OPT authorization.
What qualifications does WellSpan Health expect for Nursing Assistant positions?
WellSpan generally requires an active Certified Nursing Assistant credential on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry, along with current CPR certification. Some postings specify prior acute care or long-term care experience. For internationally trained candidates, you'll need to demonstrate that your credentials are recognized in Pennsylvania, which may involve a credential evaluation if your training was completed outside the United States.
How do I apply for Nursing Assistant jobs at WellSpan Health?
You can find and apply for Nursing Assistant roles at WellSpan Health through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're only looking at roles where sponsorship is a real option. When you apply, flag your visa status in your application or cover letter so recruiters can route your file correctly from the start, rather than raising it after an offer is extended.
How do I understand the timeline for visa sponsorship at WellSpan Health?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can allow you to start within weeks if E-Verify is completed promptly. H-1B sponsorship follows USCIS processing timelines, which currently run several months standard or faster with premium processing. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which requires PERM labor certification through DOL, typically takes several years from initial filing to approval.
