Obtain State CNA Certification Before Applying
BAYADA requires active state-level Nursing Assistant certification before extending any offer. Get certified in the state where you plan to work, since reciprocity rules vary and re-testing can delay your start date and sponsorship timeline.
Target Locations With Consistent Nursing Assistant Openings
BAYADA operates across dozens of states with uneven hiring volume. Focus your search on regions where Nursing Assistant roles appear repeatedly, as repeat postings signal active workforce demand and a higher likelihood the local office has sponsorship experience.
Clarify Sponsorship Support During the Offer Stage
Once a recruiter expresses interest, ask directly whether the specific BAYADA office handles H-1B filing internally or routes it through corporate HR. This affects your timeline and whether you need to track USCIS receipt notices yourself.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsoring Nursing Assistant Roles
Search Migrate Mate to find BAYADA Nursing Assistant postings filtered by visa type. This cuts out roles where sponsorship is unlikely and focuses your applications on positions where the employer has an established filing track record for this role.
Align Your OPT Start Date With BAYADA's Onboarding Lead Time
BAYADA's onboarding for clinical roles includes background checks, health screenings, and orientation, which can take two to four weeks. Factor this into your F-1 OPT activation date so your work authorization is valid when you actually begin shifts.
Understand H-1B Eligibility Requirements for Nursing Assistant Roles
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. Nursing Assistant positions can face scrutiny on this front, so confirm with BAYADA's HR team how they document the degree requirement before the H-1B petition is filed with USCIS.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does BAYADA Home Health Care sponsor H-1B visas for Nursing Assistants?
BAYADA does sponsor H-1B visas, but eligibility for Nursing Assistant roles depends on how the position is classified under USCIS specialty occupation standards. Not every Nursing Assistant opening will qualify. You'll need to confirm with BAYADA's HR or immigration team whether the specific role and location meet H-1B requirements before pursuing this pathway.
How do I apply for Nursing Assistant jobs at BAYADA Home Health Care?
Applications go through BAYADA's career portal, where you can filter by role and location. You can also browse verified Nursing Assistant openings at BAYADA on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship has been documented. Before applying, confirm you hold an active CNA certification in the state where the position is posted, since BAYADA treats certification as a non-negotiable prerequisite.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing Assistant roles at BAYADA Home Health Care?
BAYADA supports F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and H-1B visas for this role type. F-1 OPT is the most common entry point for recent graduates. TN status applies if you're a Canadian or Mexican national in a qualifying healthcare occupation. H-1B is an option but requires careful documentation to establish specialty occupation status for a Nursing Assistant position.
What qualifications does BAYADA expect from Nursing Assistant candidates seeking visa sponsorship?
BAYADA requires a valid state CNA certification and typically expects prior hands-on care experience, especially for home health and pediatric settings. For visa sponsorship to proceed, your educational background must align with the role's requirements as USCIS defines them. Roles in specialized units like pediatrics or hospice may have additional clinical competency requirements beyond the standard CNA credential.
How do I understand the timeline for sponsorship after receiving an offer from BAYADA?
After an offer, BAYADA initiates onboarding steps including background checks and health screenings, which typically take two to four weeks before your first shift. H-1B petitions filed under standard processing with USCIS can take three to six months for a decision. If you're on OPT, confirm your authorization end date allows enough runway before USCIS adjudicates the petition.
