Frame your credentials around consulting delivery
Westwood evaluates Project Management Leads on client-facing delivery, not internal ops. Tailor your resume to show engagement lifecycles, stakeholder management, and measurable project outcomes within professional services or consulting environments before you apply.
Verify your degree supports a specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For project management in consulting, a degree in business, engineering, or a field directly tied to the service line you'd manage strengthens the petition significantly more than a general studies credential.
Target open roles aligned with active client portfolios
Consulting firms sponsor most aggressively when client demand drives headcount. Research which service lines Westwood is actively staffing by browsing current Project Management Lead openings on Migrate Mate, where roles are filtered by sponsorship eligibility.
Clarify TN eligibility before accepting an offer
If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, TN status can cover project management roles under qualifying USMCA categories. Confirm with Westwood's HR team early in the offer stage whether the role's documented duties align with an eligible TN profession.
Understand the PERM timeline before negotiating your start
If Westwood offers EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship alongside your H-1B, the DOL PERM labor certification process typically runs six to twelve months before USCIS filing. Build that into your long-term planning so employment-based Green Card milestones don't catch you off guard.
Confirm OPT or CPT authorization covers your role scope
F-1 candidates joining on OPT must ensure their authorized occupation code matches project management in a consulting context. Roles that blend delivery with business development can create STEM OPT compliance issues if the primary duties aren't accurately reflected in your employer's E-Verify enrollment.

Find Project Management Lead at Westwood Professional Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Project Management Leads?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Project Management Lead roles. Because this is a consulting firm, the company typically structures petitions around specialty occupation requirements tied to the service line the role supports. Having a qualifying degree in a directly related field, such as business, engineering, or information systems, strengthens your petition and reduces the risk of a USCIS Request for Evidence.
How do I apply for Project Management Lead jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can browse open Project Management Lead positions at Westwood Professional Services on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm a role supports your status before applying. Tailor your application to highlight client-facing project delivery experience within consulting or professional services, and indicate your sponsorship needs clearly during initial recruiter contact to avoid delays later in the process.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly use for Project Management Lead roles?
Westwood sponsors several visa categories for this function, including H-1B for specialty occupation hires, TN for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into full-time roles, J-1 for exchange-based placements, and EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways for longer-term sponsorship. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and the specific duties of the Project Management Lead position you're targeting.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect for Project Management Lead candidates seeking sponsorship?
Westwood typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to the service line you'd be managing, combined with demonstrated experience leading project teams in a consulting or professional services context. PMP certification or equivalent credentials strengthen your profile. For H-1B purposes, your degree field needs to align directly with the role's documented duties, so generalist credentials with no clear connection to the work can complicate the petition.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Westwood Professional Services as a Project Management Lead?
Timeline depends on the visa category. H-1B standard processing with USCIS runs three to six months, while premium processing reduces that to around 15 business days. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border on the day of travel. If Westwood initiates PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, expect the DOL labor certification stage alone to take six to twelve months before the USCIS immigrant petition is filed.
