Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Civil Engineer Jobs at WSB Jobs
Align your credentials to WSB's project sectors
WSB focuses on transportation, water resources, and municipal infrastructure. Frame your resume around directly relevant project experience in those areas so your application reads as a fit for their active project portfolio, not a generalist engineering background.
Target roles that match your OPT timing
WSB hires for Civil Engineer positions year-round, not on a university recruiting cycle. If you're on F-1 OPT, identify open roles at least three months before your authorization expires so your employer has enough runway to file an H-1B cap petition before the April 1 filing window.
Confirm sponsorship intent before your first interview
Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific role and office location has budget approved for visa sponsorship. Consulting firms sometimes decide sponsorship eligibility at the project or regional level, not company-wide, so early confirmation prevents wasted time.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified WSB openings
Search for WSB Civil Engineer roles on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions open to visa sponsorship. That saves you from applying to postings where sponsorship isn't available and helps you prioritize roles with the right fit.
Prepare your PE licensure or EIT documentation early
Engineering consulting firms like WSB routinely require proof of EIT status or progress toward Professional Engineer licensure. Have your NCEES records and exam transcripts organized before the offer stage so your employer's HR team can move quickly on the I-129 preparation.
Understand how the H-1B cap timeline affects your start date
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS only allows an October 1 start date for cap-subject petitions. Tell your WSB hiring manager this constraint early so the offer letter, project assignment, and onboarding plan account for that fixed start date from the beginning.

Find Civil Engineer at WSB JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WSB sponsor H-1B visas for Civil Engineers?
Yes, WSB sponsors H-1B visas for Civil Engineer roles. As a consulting firm with a broad national project footprint, WSB has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for engineering talent. Sponsorship decisions are typically made at the role level, so confirm with your recruiter that the specific position you're applying to has sponsorship approved before progressing through interviews.
How do I apply for Civil Engineer jobs at WSB?
You can find Civil Engineer openings at WSB through Migrate Mate, which lists roles filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to WSB's core service areas, particularly transportation, water, and municipal infrastructure. If you're on OPT or require H-1B sponsorship, state your visa status clearly in your application or early in recruiter conversations to avoid delays later in the process.
Which visa types does WSB commonly use for Civil Engineer positions?
WSB sponsors H-1B visas as the primary long-term work authorization path for Civil Engineers. The firm also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles, and J-1 for certain exchange visitor arrangements. If you're transitioning from OPT to H-1B, WSB's familiarity with the cap filing cycle is a practical advantage.
What qualifications and experience does WSB expect for Civil Engineer roles?
WSB typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline. For entry-level roles, Engineer-in-Training certification is often expected or in progress. Mid-level positions frequently require several years of project experience in transportation, utility, or site development work, along with progress toward Professional Engineer licensure. Strong familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation is commonly referenced in their postings.
How do I time my application if I need H-1B sponsorship from WSB?
H-1B cap petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date, which means USCIS registration opens in March. To meet that window, you'd need an offer from WSB no later than February to allow time for DOL Labor Condition Application processing and I-129 preparation. If you're on OPT with a STEM extension, you may have more flexibility, but starting conversations with WSB recruiters in the fall or early winter gives you the best chance of hitting the filing window.
