Align your credentials to PE licensure expectations
WSB's consulting work often requires or tracks toward Professional Engineer licensure. Before applying, confirm your foreign degree is evaluated by a NACES-member credential evaluator so your application clears their internal screening without delays.
Target WSB's transportation and municipal practice areas
WSB's Structural Engineer openings are concentrated in infrastructure-heavy practice groups. Tailoring your resume to bridge and transportation structures, or water infrastructure, positions you closer to their active project pipeline rather than general structural work.
Use Migrate Mate to filter WSB's open structural roles
WSB posts Structural Engineer positions across multiple regions and disciplines simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to browse their current openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can prioritize applications where sponsorship is confirmed.
Get your project documentation ready before offer negotiation
H-1B petitions for structural engineers require demonstrating specialty occupation, which means connecting your specific role duties to a required degree field. Prepare a list of major projects, technical responsibilities, and software proficiency before the offer stage, not after.

Find Structural Engineer at WSB JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WSB sponsor H-1B visas for Structural Engineers?
Yes, WSB sponsors H-1B visas for Structural Engineer roles. Their consulting practice regularly supports international engineers through the H-1B process, including cap-subject filings and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. If you're mid-status, a transfer to WSB is generally faster than a new cap filing since it doesn't require waiting for the October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Structural Engineer jobs at WSB?
Applications go through WSB's careers portal, where Structural Engineer openings are listed by region and discipline. Before applying, confirm the role explicitly mentions visa sponsorship or reach out to the recruiter directly to clarify. Migrate Mate aggregates WSB's open Structural Engineer positions filtered by sponsorship eligibility, which saves time when comparing active openings across locations.
Which visa types does WSB commonly use for Structural Engineer roles?
WSB sponsors H-1B visas as the primary long-term work authorization path for Structural Engineers. They also support F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, and TN visas for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering classifications. J-1 sponsorship is less common but has been used for training-based arrangements. Your starting visa type typically depends on where you are in your career and current immigration status.
What qualifications does WSB expect for sponsored Structural Engineer positions?
WSB's Structural Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited program. For mid-level and senior roles, progress toward or attainment of a Professional Engineer license is a meaningful differentiator. Experience with transportation structures, bridge design, or municipal infrastructure aligns directly with WSB's project base. Foreign credentials should be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service before you apply.
How do I time my application to WSB around the H-1B cap cycle?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration each March, with approved petitions taking effect October 1. If you're targeting WSB and need a new cap-subject H-1B, plan to have an offer finalized before late February so WSB can register you in time. If you're on OPT, confirm whether your expiration date allows for the gap between registration and the October start, and whether a STEM OPT extension bridges that window.
