Verify Your Nursing License Transfers
Washington State requires an active RN license before any employer can begin sponsorship paperwork. Apply through the Washington State Department of Health early, as credential verification for internationally trained nurses can take several weeks longer than domestic transfers.
Target Clinics With Federally Qualified Health Center Status
Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic operates as an FQHC, which shapes how it structures employment and compensation. FQHC employers often have established immigration workflows and HR staff experienced with TN and EB-3 filings for clinical roles specifically.
Align Your Application With School Year Hiring Cycles
School Nurse openings at community health organizations typically spike before the fall semester. Submitting your application in late spring gives the clinic time to initiate sponsorship paperwork before peak enrollment, reducing delays caused by rushed LCA or PERM filings.
Clarify Visa Type Eligibility Before the Offer Stage
The clinic sponsors multiple visa categories including TN, F-1 OPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 pathways. Ask HR explicitly which pathway applies to your situation during the final interview round so there are no surprises once an offer is extended and USCIS filing timelines begin.
Prepare PERM Documentation for EB-3 Sponsorship Early
EB-3 sponsorship requires a DOL PERM labor certification, which can take a year or more before USCIS even receives the I-140 petition. Gather your educational transcripts, employment history, and credential evaluations before your start date so the clinic's legal team can begin immediately.

Does Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic's primary sponsorship pathways for School Nurses include EB-2, EB-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT rather than H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status and seeking a transfer, confirm directly with their HR team whether they're willing to accept an H-1B transfer petition, as this differs from initiating a new H-1B cap-subject filing.
Which visa types are commonly used for School Nurse roles at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic?
The clinic most commonly sponsors School Nurses through TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT for recent graduates completing their optional practical training period, and EB-3 for nurses pursuing a permanent Green Card pathway. EB-2 sponsorship is also available for candidates who meet advanced degree or national interest waiver criteria.
What qualifications does Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic expect for School Nurse positions?
You'll typically need an active Washington State RN license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and experience working with pediatric or underserved populations. Community or public health nursing backgrounds align well with the clinic's FQHC mission. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is frequently listed as a preference given the patient demographics served across Yakima Valley locations.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic?
Browse current School Nurse openings at Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic on Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered to show roles open to visa-sponsored candidates. Once you identify a position, apply directly through the clinic's careers portal and indicate your visa status and authorization needs clearly in your application materials to avoid delays in the screening process.
How do I plan my timeline if Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic offers EB-3 sponsorship?
EB-3 sponsorship begins with a DOL PERM labor certification, which routinely takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS receives the I-140 immigrant petition. Depending on your country of birth, visa priority dates can add further waiting periods. Request a written sponsorship commitment and projected filing schedule from the clinic's HR team before accepting an offer so you can plan accordingly.
