Align Your Credentials to Yeshiva's Academic Standards
Yeshiva University positions in Education often require field-specific degrees that directly match the role. Review job postings carefully and confirm your transcript reflects the specialization listed, since H-1B specialty occupation requirements mean a general degree may not satisfy USCIS.
Target Roles Tied to Accredited Academic Programs
Positions embedded in degree-granting programs at Yeshiva, such as faculty or curriculum roles, carry stronger specialty occupation arguments than general administrative Education titles. Prioritize applying to roles where a specific disciplinary background is listed as required, not preferred.
Ask HR Directly About Their Sponsorship Process
Before accepting an offer, confirm whether Yeshiva University uses an in-house immigration team or outside counsel for H-1B filings. Knowing who manages the process helps you ask the right questions about timeline, premium processing availability, and transfer of a current H-1B.
Plan Around the Academic Hiring Calendar
Higher education hiring at Yeshiva runs on academic year cycles, with many roles posting in fall or early spring. If you're on OPT, map your authorization expiration against typical offer timelines so you can confirm cap-gap coverage extends through October 1 if needed.
Verify Your J-1 Status Has No Two-Year Requirement
If you entered the U.S. on a J-1 exchange visitor visa for teaching or research, check whether you're subject to the two-year home residency requirement. Yeshiva cannot file an H-1B on your behalf until that requirement is fulfilled or a waiver is approved by the DOS.
Browse Education Openings at Yeshiva Through Migrate Mate
Filtering by visa type and employer saves time when you're targeting sponsoring institutions. Use Migrate Mate to surface current Education openings at Yeshiva University that align with your visa category and application timeline.

Find Education at Yeshiva University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Yeshiva University sponsor H-1B visas for Education roles?
Yes, Yeshiva University sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Education positions. Eligibility depends on whether the role meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria, which requires a direct relationship between the job duties and a specific bachelor's degree field. Faculty and program-specific roles tend to meet this bar more consistently than broadly defined administrative titles.
How do I apply for Education jobs at Yeshiva University?
Applications are submitted through Yeshiva University's official careers portal. Browse open Education roles, confirm the position description matches your degree and background, and submit your materials directly. You can also use Migrate Mate to filter Education openings at Yeshiva by visa type so you're only reviewing roles aligned with your sponsorship situation before applying.
Which visa types are commonly used for Education roles at Yeshiva University?
Yeshiva University supports several visa categories for Education professionals, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, J-1 for exchange visitors in teaching or research positions, and F-1 OPT and CPT for eligible students completing degree programs. TN status may apply for Canadian or Mexican nationals in qualifying Education occupations listed under USMCA. The right category depends on your nationality, role type, and current immigration status.
What qualifications are typically expected for Education positions at Yeshiva University?
Most Education roles at Yeshiva require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with faculty and senior academic positions often requiring a master's degree or doctorate. For H-1B eligibility, your degree must correspond directly to the position's duties. Practical experience in higher education settings, familiarity with Jewish studies or affiliated academic programs, and prior campus or instructional experience can strengthen your application.
How do I time my application if my OPT is expiring soon?
If your F-1 OPT expires before October 1 and Yeshiva files an H-1B petition on your behalf before the April 1 filing window closes, cap-gap protection automatically extends your work authorization through October 1 of that year. Confirm your employer is prepared to file before the window opens and that your I-20 reflects a timely OPT extension request, since USCIS requires continuous valid status through the filing date.
