Get your credentials evaluated before applying
Many states require foreign-earned degrees to be evaluated by a NACES-approved credential evaluation service before issuing a teaching license. Complete this step early, an incomplete credential file is one of the most common reasons offers stall.
Obtain your state teaching license first
Zeta Charter Schools operates in specific states, so check the exact licensure requirements for those jurisdictions. Some states have alternative routes for career changers, but a valid teaching license is a baseline requirement before any sponsorship conversation begins.
Target high-need subject areas strategically
Charter schools consistently face the greatest shortages in special education, math, and science. If your certification covers one of these areas, lead with that explicitly in your application materials to signal you fill a genuine gap.
Understand the school year timeline for visa filing
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. For a fall teaching role, that means securing an offer no later than March. Build your outreach calendar backward from that USCIS deadline.
Ask directly about LCA filing during the offer stage
Before the H-1B petition, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your wage meets the prevailing rate for your role and location. Confirm with Zeta's HR team that this step is initiated promptly once you accept an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to find open teaching roles
Filtering for sponsorship-confirmed teaching positions saves significant time in your job search. Use Migrate Mate to browse open roles at Zeta Charter Schools filtered by visa type, so you're only pursuing positions where sponsorship is already on the table.

Find Teaching at Zeta Charter Schools JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Zeta Charter Schools sponsor H-1B visas for Teachers?
Yes, Zeta Charter Schools has sponsored H-1B visas for teaching roles. The H-1B is the most common pathway for international teachers at U.S. charter schools, classifying teaching as a specialty occupation. You'll need a relevant bachelor's degree or higher and a valid state teaching license to qualify. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing your application to meet the April 1 USCIS filing deadline is critical.
How do I apply for Teaching jobs at Zeta Charter Schools?
Start by browsing open teaching positions on Zeta Charter Schools' careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your resume to highlight subject-area certification, grade-level experience, and any student achievement data. Charter schools like Zeta place heavy weight on demonstrated classroom results, so lead with measurable outcomes rather than just duties.
Which visa types does Zeta Charter Schools commonly sponsor for Teaching roles?
Zeta Charter Schools has sponsored both H-1B and E-3 visas for teaching positions. The H-1B is available to nationals of most countries, while the E-3 is exclusively for Australian citizens and offers a simpler process with no lottery. Both require the role to qualify as a specialty occupation and the candidate to hold a relevant degree and teaching credentials.
What qualifications does Zeta Charter Schools expect for Teaching roles?
At a minimum, you'll need a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area and a valid state teaching license for the jurisdiction where the school operates. Zeta Charter Schools, like most charter networks, places strong emphasis on student outcomes, so classroom experience and evidence of measurable academic growth carry significant weight. Subject-area certifications in high-need fields like special education, math, or science strengthen your candidacy.
How does the visa sponsorship timeline work for a Teaching role at Zeta Charter Schools?
For an H-1B, your employer must file a petition by April 1 for work authorization beginning October 1, which aligns with the start of a school year. This means securing your offer no later than early March to allow time for the Labor Condition Application with the DOL and the USCIS petition. E-3 applicants have more scheduling flexibility since there's no lottery, but still need a certified LCA before applying.
