Compliance Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a compliance manager in Massachusetts?
Most compliance manager roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or a related discipline, followed by several years in a compliance analyst or specialist role. Massachusetts does not issue a state compliance license, but employers in financial services strongly favor candidates holding the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or the CAMS credential for AML work. Life sciences roles often expect familiarity with FDA regulatory frameworks, while healthcare positions value experience with Massachusetts health privacy regulations.
How much do compliance managers make in Massachusetts?
Compliance managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $182,950 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $110,970 for the lowest 10% to over $309,290 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire compliance managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring compliance managers in Massachusetts right now include Whoop, Keurig Dr Pepper, and VulcanForms, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of financial institutions, biotech firms, and major hospital systems means compliance hiring here tends to be consistent throughout the year rather than seasonal.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most compliance manager jobs?
Boston, Devens, and Waltham account for the largest share of compliance manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston dominates due to its concentration of financial services firms, asset managers, and teaching hospitals, while Cambridge draws heavily from the life sciences and biotech corridor anchored along Route 128, and Worcester reflects growing demand from UMass Memorial Health and regional financial institutions.
Are there remote compliance manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than many fields, because compliance work is largely analytical, document-driven, and conducted through digital systems rather than on a physical site. About 70% of compliance manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how readily the role translates to distributed teams. Policy review, audit coordination, and regulatory reporting are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a compliance manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a compliance analyst or coordinator, which large Massachusetts employers like Fidelity Investments, State Street, and Partners HealthCare routinely hire for at the associate level. Lateral moves from roles in audit, legal operations, or quality assurance are common and well-recognized by Massachusetts hiring managers. Earning an entry-level credential such as the CCEP-I or completing a compliance certificate program through a Massachusetts institution like Northeastern University gives candidates a concrete edge when competing without direct compliance experience.
Where can I find and apply to compliance manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to compliance manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
