Position Summary

MC3 Solutions is seeking a skilled, analytical, and detail-driven Construction Estimator to join our growing team. As a key contributor in the pre-construction phase, the Estimator is responsible for accurately forecasting project costs and supporting the development of competitive, well-qualified bids and budgets across a range of negotiated and hard-bid work.

The Construction Estimator plays a vital role in evaluating project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare both preliminary and final cost estimates. This position actively participates in proposal presentations, interviews, and the development of overall project schedules. The Estimator coordinates closely with architects, engineers, and internal teams to align design intent with construction schedules and budget expectations.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive sub bids and material quotations; assisting with the preparation of bid packages and prequalification documents; developing subcontractor and vendor bid lists; issuing invitations to bid; and drafting bidding instructions and bid forms. Through thorough analysis, communication, and strategic planning, the Construction Estimator supports the successful procurement and financial feasibility of each project from concept through contract award.

Position Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering, mathematics, architecture, or a similar field is encouraged but not required.

· Minimum 7 years’ experience in construction and construction estimation.

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in bidding Federal work

· Background Checks for Badging/ Security Clearances

· Exhibits consistent and competent judgement

· Excellent Communication skills (Verbal and Written)

· Ability to handle multiple projects at once

· Ability to work independently and with team members

• Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (ex. Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe

· US work authorization

· Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

· OSHA 10

· Experience with Bluebeam

Duties/ Responsibilities

· Review, evaluate, and thoroughly understand government Request for Proposals (RFPs) and solicitations.

· Prepares quality full-service cost estimates for a diverse array of construction projects.

· Reviews and incorporates data from production, subcontracts, productivity reports and the job costs system into unit cost, man-hour and crew production figures.

· Reviews proposal specifications and drawings, prepares lists of bid items and quantities. 

· Maintain cost estimating tools including databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based applications to keep updated information on past performance and industry standards.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and meets with owners to determine scope of work.

· Recommends vendors and subcontractors for the project; discusses and obtains appropriate quotations in coordination with internal staff.

· Actively searches for opportunities to bid in the private and public sectors

· Interfaces with owner, architect/engineer, and subcontractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.

· Performs or coordinates quantity takeoff, assembles direct cost estimate and analyzes alternate construction methods to determine cost effectiveness. 

· Assists in the research of and cost estimates for alternate construction methods.

· Reviews design options and recommends the best solution based on cost, value engineering or availability of materials.

· Assists in tracking awarded contracts as assigned through review of cost reports and discussions with Project Teams.

· Analyzes and incorporates innovative approach into the preparation of estimates/bids.

· Must have the ability to explain details behind each estimate, including the basis of the man-hours allocated for each task, personnel resources needed to execute each task, etc.

· Requires occasional day travel to deliver bids, attend pre-bid meetings, visit job sites and/or to attend conferences or training classes.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week.

Important for candidates to understand that they will be joining an experienced take off team that will support on daily operations.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
