IdeaTek is looking for a Construction Project Coordinator to provide the day-to-day project, contract, and administrative support needed to keep our Middle Mile project moving forward. You'll serve as a key liaison between IdeaTek's operations teams and KDOT, helping manage project documentation, reporting, invoicing, contract requirements, and ongoing communication.

This is a detail-heavy role for someone who can learn a complex contract, understand how changes affect the project, and communicate those impacts clearly. You'll work closely with the Middle Mile project team and KDOT to keep information accurate, requirements understood, and project activity moving.

This position is remote within Kansas, with primarily daytime hours and minimal travel.

A Day in the Life

You'll start your day reviewing project activity, outstanding requirements, and financial or other documentation items that need attention. You may follow up with KDOT on project questions, review project records to determine what work can be billed, or work with accounting to make sure invoices are accurate and supported by the contract.

Throughout the day, you'll communicate with KDOT, internal operations teams, contractors, and accounting partners to gather information, resolve questions, and keep everyone aligned. You'll need to stay close to the details while also understanding the bigger picture—especially when a contract change, project decision, or construction activity could have a financial or reporting impact.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

• Serve as a primary point of contact for KDOT, managing regular communication, questions, meetings, reporting, documentation, and follow-up on project requirements.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Middle Mile contract and use it to interpret requirements, identify impacts, and guide project decisions.
• Coordinate project invoicing by reviewing completed work, contract requirements, and supporting documentation to determine what is billable and working with accounting to resolve discrepancies.
• Track project activity, milestones, deliverables, documentation, and reporting requirements to maintain accurate visibility into project status.
• Serve as a liaison between KDOT, project leadership, operations, construction teams, contractors, and accounting to keep information flowing and issues moving toward resolution.
• Monitor changes to project scope, contract requirements, and project activity and communicate potential operational or financial impacts to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Review maps, engineering plans, construction documentation, and project records to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
• Identify discrepancies, gaps, or potential risks and proactively research solutions before they affect project progress or compliance.
• Prepare reports, presentations, visual updates, and other project materials using tools such as Google Sheets and Google Slides.
• Support the Middle Mile project team with additional administrative and coordination needs as the project progresses.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in project administration, construction administration, contract administration, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience using Google Workspace, including Google Sheets and Google Slides.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships over the phone and in writing.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience working with government agencies or government-funded projects.
• Construction or telecommunications industry experience.
• Experience interpreting construction plans, maps, engineering drawings, or project documentation.
• Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Business, or related degree.
