Key Accountabilities
Quality Programs
- Define and lead product quality initiatives in close collaboration with all plants and quarries within geographic scope of role (country).
- Oversee continuous development and improvement of Quality System Program which includes the customer complaint management system, document management systems and associated elements.
- Facilitate the optimization of quality processes between manufacturing, technical, administrative and sales groups.
- Manage Omya's response to customer and market requirements for quality system elements and information, including customer surveys and supplier site audit visits.
- Support, advise and coordinate with Purchasing the supplier audit program to ensure consistent quality of materials to Omya.
- Provide support to the country operations in the establishment and improvement of Quality management in order to avoid significant risks of disrupting the business and customer satisfaction.
- Support country sites participation in Regional & Corporate programs.
- Participate in Quality Reporting: collecting data, monitoring and reviewing objectives, targets and KPI’s (e.g. reject and complaint rates), compiling reports for Head of Operations and Head of Sustainability (in coordination with Operations teams).
- Participate in audits, inspections, customer complaint investigations and related activities to meet targets and objectives.
- Where appropriate, provide training and support for site personnel.
Sustainability Management Systems
- Ensure current ISO (9001 and 14001) and OHSAS 18001 certifications for all facilities, as applicable.
- Coordinate certification efforts in support of Omya Group's Multi Site Certification project.
- Act as the local Quality representative to Omya Sustainability Group efforts.
- Lead and manage the internal audit program.
- Lead auditor training programs.
Compliance
- Commit to continuous improvement in occupational safety/health, environmental protection, and quality management.
- Adhere to and ensure all Omya employees within geographic scope of role are aware and accustomed with the significant quality, safety/health, and environmental (QSHE) aspects/impacts associated with their work, including relevant legal/other requirements and emergency preparedness and response.
- Understand and use the Corporate Sustainability Policy and the Region Integrated Management System (IMS) as guidance to continuously improve the QSHE aspects of their jobs.
- Fulfill all related activities in terms of a safety officer such as but not limited to: Job safety analysis, risk assessments, root cause analyses of QSHE incidents, advice to management in terms of all safety, health and environmental issues, information to management & participation in solving of deviations / non – conformances in QSHE matter, execution of inspections / audits / observations.
- Implement standards and procedures, audit for compliance, work with team to find solutions and manage the improvement process.
- Participate & contribute in local policy and procedural development.
Other Duties
- Inform all involved members of local management, ‘Heads of legal units’ and where relevant, area / regional management regarding relevant business transactions prior to decision making.

- with certification (ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001). Certifications according to certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001). Indirectly through system-support to Line Managers: Improvement of occupational health and safety performance, Reduction of environmental impact, Reduction of QSHE risks, Improvement of quality performance, Reduction of accidents/incidents/injuries, Warranty of Crisis Management systematic. KPI´s: All related OMIS SUS kPI´s as well as PI´s set up through the management system (Process related PI´s). Quality system compliance (excluding statutory legal compliance). Quality control of sites as needed. Plant/site participation in corporate & regional policies and procedures. Quality improvement (from audits) list - update and completion of agreed tasks. Personal performance measure agreed in yearly MbO.

- Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.
- Good command of both oral and written additional language is beneficial.
- Safety Officer according to local law.
- Willingness to travel, up to approximately 50% of the time, mostly within the Region.

Education
- University (Master's Degree preferred, but not required) in Science, Engineering or a similar field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in auditing, industrial compliance, and government regulatory affairs.
- Progressive experience in quality systems and continuous improvement, and the management thereof in a mining, chemical or a closely related industry.
Knowledge and skills
- Knowledge and commitment to Integrated Management Systems such as ISO 9001/14001/50001 & BS OSHAS 18001.
- Demonstrated experience with obtaining and maintaining certification registration at manufacturing facilities.
- Sound experience in leading and execution of technical projects within the field of QSHE.
Experience
- in managing customer and third-party standard requirements.
- Significant experience in effective leading, and being a contributing part of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to simultaneously understand, prioritize, decide, clearly communicate and successfully manage several multifaceted projects and to rapidly adapt to and learn new tasks/roles.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated experience with Minitab® (or similar), Excel, and Statistical Process Control.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean tools and methodologies including DMAIC. Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, but not required.
- Good team player, conflict solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work across different cultures.
