Homeland Builders is a Christian-owned homebuilder based in Central, SC. Since 2017, we have built homes across the Upstate, and today we build around 30 homes a year. Our mission is to honor God through building homes and building relationships with our clients, subcontractors, and one another.

We build spec homes across the Upstate and, through our growing semi-custom division, personalized homes on our clients' own land. We are hiring a Superintendent to lead construction on our homes.

The Role

At Homeland Builders, we're a small team that works hard and takes real pride in the homes we build. We rely on trusted systems, proven plans, and subcontractors who know our standards, and we work together to make sure every home is built well, and every client and buyer is happy with the result.

As Superintendent, you'll be at the center of that work, leading construction on homes from foundation preparation to completion: coordinating subcontractors, managing the field schedule, solving problems before they become delays, and holding every home to Homeland Builders' standards.

Responsibilities

• Pre-construction: Review plans, specifications, the site plan, and selections with the Project Manager before work begins. Anticipate potential issues and resolve questions or missing information early, so problems are solved before they cause delays.
• Scheduling: Schedule and coordinate subcontractors throughout the construction process, confirm each site is ready before the next trade arrives, and look ahead to head off conflicts or delays before they affect the schedule.
• Site work and utilities: Oversee foundation preparation, driveways, porches, septic systems, and related site work, and coordinate utility connections and meter sets on site.
• Materials: Receive and verify deliveries, direct drop locations, and report shortages or damage.
• Quality control: Visit each active jobsite every 24–48 hours, and more often when the work calls for it. Verify work against the plans, specifications, and Homeland Builders' standards, hold subcontractors accountable for correcting deficiencies, and confirm work is complete before subcontractors are paid.
• Inspections and milestones: Coordinate municipal and third-party inspections, confirm when construction milestones are complete for billing, and be on site for lender draw inspections as needed.
• Punchlist and market readiness: Lead the punchlist process so each home is complete, clean, and ready for its new owners.
• Safety and site protection: Maintain safe, clean, and secure jobsites that respect each property and its neighbors, including required erosion control and protecting materials from weather and theft.
• Documentation and communication: Keep daily progress notes and photos in Monday.com (our project management software), record weather and other delays, and meet weekly with the Project Manager to review progress, identify upcoming needs, and raise issues early.

Qualifications

Required

• Hands-on residential construction experience, such as in a trade or as a lead carpenter, assistant superintendent, or similar role
• Ability to read and interpret residential plans and specifications
• Working knowledge of South Carolina residential building codes
• Clear, professional communication with subcontractors, coworkers, inspectors, and clients
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with a smartphone, iPad, email, and Microsoft Office (Monday.com training provided)
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable personal vehicle for travel between jobsites (truck preferred), and ability to pass a background check

Preferred

• Superintendent or assistant superintendent experience
• Experience scheduling and managing multiple subcontractors across several active jobsites
• Experience building spec, production, or custom homes
• Experience with foundation preparation, septic systems, and site work
• Established relationships with Upstate subcontractors and building departments
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Work Environment

This is a field-based position covering jobsites across Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, and Pickens counties, with regular driving between sites. The work involves outdoor conditions in varying weather, walking uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
