Well established General Contractor with over 40 years of experience working in the tri-state area is seeking an efficient and organized Construction Superintendent. Candidate must have experience working on interior and exterior renovation projects and be familiar with New York City Building codes including Chapter 33. The Construction Superintendent will report to the Owner of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily construction operations and work with the Owner and Owners’ representatives
- Oversee subcontractor’s work
- Review plans and specifications identifying issues and conflicts
- Make sure that the requirements of the project are met
- Respect schedule, quality & cost control.
- Communicate, monitor & supervise all material delivery on the job site
- Be well organized, detail oriented and capacity to multi-task successfully.
- Be principal point of contact for multiple construction projects and meet deadlines
- Coordination of the various Subcontractors on the project to avoid any potential conflicts in the execution of their work.
Valuable Skills and Qualities:
- College graduate with 3+ years of Building and Renovations experience managing multiple commercial/residential projects (required)
- OSHA 40 Hour SST Certificate (required)
- NYC Construction Superintendent License (preferred but not required)
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (including Microsoft Project and Excel)
- Ability to read architectural drawings / plans
- Ability to problem solve and multi-task
- Ability to lead and work well with others as a team player
- Possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Must be willing to submit to a full background check
