Construction Supervisor Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a construction supervisor in Indiana?
Most Indiana employers require several years of hands-on construction experience before promoting or hiring someone into a supervisor role, with no single state-issued license specifically for the title. That said, Indiana follows IOSHA safety standards, so holding an OSHA 30-Hour Construction card is a practical baseline most employers expect. Many candidates strengthen their path through an associate degree in construction management from a program at Ivy Tech Community College or Purdue Polytechnic, paired with field experience.
How much do construction supervisors make in Indiana?
Construction supervisors in Indiana earn a median of about $82,530 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $57,990 for the lowest 10% to over $120,730 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire construction supervisors in Indiana?
Employers hiring construction supervisors in Indiana right now include Kingdom Roofing Systems, NAES Corporation, and Lochmueller, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indiana's strong manufacturing base, active infrastructure investment, and growth in energy projects keep construction supervisor demand steady across both urban centers and smaller regional markets throughout the state.
Which Indiana cities have the most construction supervisor jobs?
Indianapolis, Cicero, and Kokomo lead Indiana in construction supervisor openings. Indianapolis generates the highest volume through its large commercial development, healthcare campus expansion, and I-69 corridor infrastructure work, while Fort Wayne and Evansville support steady demand through manufacturing plant construction, utility projects, and regional commercial growth anchored by large employers in each metro.
Are there remote construction supervisor jobs in Indiana?
Yes, but they're rare. Construction supervisor work is fundamentally site-based, requiring physical presence to manage crews, inspect progress, and enforce safety standards. About 33% of construction supervisor openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve pre-construction planning, estimating review, or regional oversight roles rather than active daily site management.
How can I get hired as a construction supervisor in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a construction laborer, carpenter's helper, or field technician with a mid-size Indiana contractor and building toward a foreman role through demonstrated reliability and safety awareness. Ivy Tech Community College's construction management program offers credentials that larger Indiana contractors like Messer and Pepper Construction recognize when hiring junior supervisors. OSHA 10 certification and a clean safety record strengthen any early-career application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to construction supervisor jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to construction supervisor jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search for roles that match your experience level and specialty, whether commercial, industrial, or civil, and apply directly to the ones that fit your background.
