Position Description

Position Summary

The Site Supervisor – Construction is responsible for overseeing daily field operations at assigned construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, customer expectations, project specifications, and applicable regulations.

This position serves as a key liaison between field employees, project management, customers, subcontractors, and branch leadership. The Site Supervisor will coordinate crews, monitor productivity and quality, address field challenges, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure all work is performed in a safe and professional manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of field crews at assigned construction sites.
• Ensure work is performed according to project specifications, schedules, and customer requirements.
• Conduct jobsite inspections and monitor work quality, productivity, and overall project progress.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and ensure employees follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct or participate in pre-task planning, toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and other required safety activities.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and resources necessary to complete assigned projects.
• Communicate regularly with project managers, branch leadership, customers, general contractors, and other site personnel.
• Identify and communicate potential project delays, operational concerns, safety issues, or resource requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, timekeeping, jobsite documentation, and other required paperwork.
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and direction as necessary.
• Ensure company equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials are properly maintained, secured, and utilized.
• Assist with troubleshooting field conditions and developing practical solutions to maintain project schedules.
• Ensure crews maintain professional conduct and appropriate customer service while representing Penhall.
• Review project requirements and communicate expectations clearly to field personnel.
• Assist with training and development of new and existing employees.
• Support branch leadership with operational initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of construction, field operations, or related industry experience.
• Previous supervisory or crew-lead experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction site operations and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and work instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to complete accurate jobsite documentation and reports.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to travel to and work at various project locations as required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required depending on position responsibilities.
• Ability to successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening requirements.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work for extended periods on active construction sites.
• Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required.
• Ability to work around construction equipment, noise, dust, concrete, and other jobsite conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to work varying schedules, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or extended hours based on project requirements.
