Entry Level Content Editor Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level content editor job?
Build a portfolio that shows real editing work: revised blog posts, college publication clips, or volunteer content projects all count. Employers at this level look for attention to detail, comfort with style guides like AP or Chicago, and familiarity with content management systems. Internship experience in a newsroom, marketing team, or publishing house gives candidates a clear edge over applicants with coursework alone.
Which companies hire entry level content editors?
Companies hiring entry level content editors right now include Kikoff, Elsevier, and GRAY MEDIA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including digital media outlets, marketing agencies, e-commerce brands, and corporate communications teams that maintain active content pipelines and regularly bring on junior editors.
Are there remote entry level content editor jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and role type. About 25% of entry level content editor openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which is relatively strong for an entry level position. Remote roles in this field often require candidates to demonstrate reliable self-editing skills and comfort working within digital collaboration tools and asynchronous editorial workflows.
Are these new grad content editor jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior content editor roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically asks for zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic publications as qualifications, and treats a polished writing and editing portfolio as a substitute for a long employment history.
Which industries hire the most entry level content editors?
Entry Level content editor roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Education, and Chemicals & Materials, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive entry level hiring because they publish high volumes of written content regularly, creating steady demand for junior editors who can maintain brand voice, enforce style consistency, and support senior editorial staff.
