Entry Level Social Media Strategist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level social media strategist job?
Entry level social media strategist roles typically look for candidates who can show real work: a portfolio of content you have created, managed social accounts for a club or freelance client, or internship experience where you ran campaigns. Employers at this stage prioritize platform fluency, basic analytics literacy, and a clear content voice over years on a resume. Tailoring your application to each employer's brand tone gives you a genuine edge.
Which companies hire entry level social media strategists?
Companies hiring entry level social media strategists right now include Capital One, Asbury Automotive, and University of Tennessee, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including startups building their first social presence, agencies staffing junior roles, and established consumer brands looking for fresh creative talent.
Are there remote entry level social media strategist jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are a real part of this market. About 0% of entry level social media strategist openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making this one of the more flexible fields for candidates who are not tied to a specific city. On-site roles still exist, particularly at agencies and companies where teams collaborate closely on content production.
Are these new grad social media strategist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior social media strategist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or freelance work toward requirements, or asks for a portfolio instead of a lengthy employment history. If you are a new grad with strong content samples and platform knowledge, most of these openings are well within reach.
Which industries hire the most entry level social media strategists?
Entry Level social media strategist roles concentrate in Education, Automotive, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they depend heavily on ongoing content production, audience engagement, and brand visibility, which creates consistent demand for junior talent who can execute day-to-day strategy.
