Entry Level Creative Lead Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level creative lead job?
Build a portfolio that shows concept thinking, not just execution, entry level creative lead roles favor candidates who demonstrate creative direction even on small projects. Internship work, freelance campaigns, student projects, and self-initiated work all count. Tailor each application to the brand's visual identity, and be ready to walk through your creative decisions in an interview rather than just presenting finished pieces.
Which companies hire entry level creative leads?
Companies hiring entry level creative leads right now include Robert Half, Virginia Tech, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, you'll find a mix of agencies, in-house brand teams at consumer companies, and startups that need a junior creative to help shape early visual identity.
Are there remote entry level creative lead jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are still common at this stage. About 30% of entry level creative lead openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting demand from companies comfortable hiring junior creative talent outside their local market. Filtering by work setting when you search helps you focus on the format that fits your situation.
Are these new grad creative lead jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior creative lead roles that welcome candidates with little to no professional experience. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it lists zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or portfolio work in place of full-time history, or explicitly invites applicants from design programs and bootcamps. Look for those signals in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level creative leads?
Entry Level creative lead roles concentrate in Education, Technology & Software, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they run high volumes of campaigns, product launches, and content that require dedicated junior creative talent to support senior directors and brand teams.
