The Mountain Sport Social Media Lead helps bring Patagonia's mountain sport stories to life across social channels. This role leads content planning, publishing, community engagement, and social storytelling for categories including climbing, snow, trail running, and mountain biking. This role develops platform-native social approaches that deepen audience engagement, support category and brand storytelling, and strengthen Patagonia’s presence within mountain sport communities. The role partners closely with Category Marketing, Creative, Editorial, Film, PR/Comms, athlete ambassadors, Retail, CX, and Brand Social to translate business and storytelling priorities into culturally relevant social content and conversations. This person should bring strong social instincts, editorial judgment, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of mountain sport culture and digital communities. They should be equally comfortable thinking strategically, collaborating cross-functionally, analyzing performance, and executing day-to-day publishing and engagement work.
Social Content & Storytelling:
- Plan, create, publish, and manage content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging channels
- Support storytelling around campaigns, product launches, athlete ambassadors, films, events, and environmental initiatives
- Help identify opportunities to create relevant, timely, and engaging content that resonates with mountain sport audiences
- Capture, commission, curate, or create real-time and in-field social content from productions, athlete ambassadors, and community events as needed
Community Engagement & Channel Management:
- Manage day-to-day publishing and community engagement across mountain sport channels
- Engage with followers, athletes, creators, ambassadors, and community partners
- Monitor conversations, trends, and cultural moments across mountain sport communities
- Help maintain an authentic, inclusive, and active presence across social platforms
Performance & Collaboration:
- Track content performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement and growth
- Share insights and recommendations with internal partners
- Collaborate with teams across Marketing, Creative, Editorial, PR/Comms, Retail, and Customer Experience to support integrated storytelling and campaigns

What We're Looking For
- 2–5+ years of experience in social media, content marketing, digital storytelling, or community management ideally within outdoor, sport, editorial, or lifestyle spaces
- Experience managing or contributing to brand social media accounts
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging social platforms
- Experience creating content calendars, publishing content, and engaging online communities
- Familiarity with social analytics and management tools such as Sprout Social or similar platforms
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through execution
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with ambassador, creator, or community-driven storytelling
- Meaningful connection to mountain sport communities through prior work and/or personal pursuits
Hiring Range: $100,000 - $105,000 USD Annual
