Controller Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a controller job in Phoenix?
Phoenix controller roles are most accessible through the city's financial services firms along the Camelback Corridor, large healthcare systems headquartered downtown, and the growing technology and real estate development sectors in Tempe and Scottsdale. Candidates with CPA credentials and experience in multi-entity consolidation or public company reporting stand out locally. Targeting mid-size regional companies and publicly traded firms with Phoenix headquarters sharpens your edge.
Which companies hire controllers in Phoenix?
Phoenix controller roles are posted by WorldWide Jet Charter, CIM, and CIM and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's mix of national corporate headquarters, regional healthcare systems, and fast-growing fintech and real estate firms creates consistent controller demand across employer sizes.
Are there remote controller jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, though controllers are less remote-friendly than purely analytical finance roles because the position typically requires direct oversight of accounting operations, month-end close, and audit coordination. About 17% of controller openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid schedules more common than fully remote. The most remote-eligible work tends to involve financial reporting and systems oversight rather than day-to-day team management.
How can I get a controller job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic path in Phoenix is moving up from a senior accountant or accounting manager role within a mid-size company in healthcare, real estate, or professional services, sectors that hire heavily here and often promote internally. Phoenix's large regional credit unions, property management firms, and healthcare networks regularly post assistant controller openings that serve as direct stepping stones. Building experience with ERP systems common in the Phoenix market, such as Yardi or NetSuite, strengthens your candidacy significantly.
Which industries hire the most controllers in Phoenix?
Phoenix controller roles concentrate in Investment & Asset Management, Manufacturing, and Accounting & Auditing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Phoenix's status as a major healthcare hub, a growing financial services center, and an expanding commercial real estate market drives consistent controller demand across those sectors year-round.
