Accounting Analyst Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting analyst in Arizona?
Most accounting analyst roles in Arizona require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and many employers expect candidates to hold or be actively pursuing CPA licensure through the Arizona State Board of Accountancy. The Board oversees the CPA exam and licensure requirements in Arizona. Candidates without a CPA often start in staff accountant or junior analyst roles and gain licensure while working, which is a common path at larger Arizona firms and corporate finance departments.
How much do accounting analysts make in Arizona?
Accounting analysts in Arizona earn a median of about $84,810 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,500 for the lowest 10% to over $123,300 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire accounting analysts in Arizona?
Employers hiring accounting analysts in Arizona right now include U-Haul, FCT, and Axon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's mix of healthcare systems, mining companies, and financial services headquarters means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Arizona cities have the most accounting analyst jobs?
Phoenix, Tucson, and Scottsdale have the most accounting analyst openings in Arizona. Phoenix drives the bulk of demand as the state's commercial and corporate hub, home to major healthcare systems, financial services firms, and publicly traded companies, while Scottsdale and Tempe contribute concentrated openings through their technology, real estate, and professional services industries.
Are there remote accounting analyst jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than many fields, since accounting analyst work is largely desk-based and output-driven. About 75% of accounting analyst openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting ongoing flexibility in corporate finance departments. Financial reporting, budgeting, and data reconciliation tasks translate most readily to remote arrangements, while roles requiring close coordination with AP or AR teams tend to stay on-site.
How can I get hired as a accounting analyst in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to staff accountant or accounting associate roles at large Arizona employers such as Banner Health, Arizona State University, or major public accounting firms with Phoenix-area offices that run new-graduate recruiting cycles. Internship programs at these organizations frequently convert to full-time analyst positions. Earning or actively sitting for the CPA exam through the Arizona State Board of Accountancy gives candidates a concrete edge over other entry-level applicants competing for the same openings.
Where can I find and apply to accounting analyst jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to accounting analyst jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
