Accounting Analyst Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting analyst in Florida?
The standard path starts with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, which is the baseline requirement across Florida employers. While Florida does not require a state license specifically to work as an accounting analyst, earning or pursuing CPA licensure through the Florida Board of Accountancy strengthens your candidacy significantly. Most Florida employers in financial services, healthcare, and hospitality prefer candidates who combine a relevant degree with at least one recognized credential and hands-on general ledger or reporting experience.
How much do accounting analysts make in Florida?
Accounting analysts in Florida earn a median of about $84,170 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,660 for the lowest 10% to over $123,710 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire accounting analysts in Florida?
Employers hiring accounting analysts in Florida right now include Citi, Publix, and Broward Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's mix of large regional headquarters, healthcare systems, and tourism-driven corporations means accounting analyst openings appear across a wide range of industries throughout the state.
Which Florida cities have the most accounting analyst jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Medley are the cities with the most accounting analyst openings in Florida. Miami leads due to its concentration of financial services firms, multinational companies, and real estate operations, while Tampa and Orlando generate high volume through their healthcare systems, hospitality groups, and corporate regional offices that all maintain substantial in-house finance teams.
Are there remote accounting analyst jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 60% of accounting analyst openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the analytical and reporting nature of the role translates to distributed work. Financial reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting tasks are the functions most commonly offered on a remote or hybrid basis by Florida employers.
How can I get hired as a accounting analyst in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to staff accountant or accounting associate roles at large Florida employers, which often serve as direct feeders into accounting analyst positions. Companies like AdventHealth, Publix, and Florida-based hospitality groups regularly bring on new graduates for rotational finance programs or associate analyst roles. Completing the Florida Board of Accountancy's CPA exam process early, even before licensure, signals commitment. Adjacent roles in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or financial operations are common lateral moves that Florida hiring managers recognize as qualifying experience.
Where can I find and apply to accounting analyst jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to accounting analyst jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries and metro areas. Find the roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to each one.
