Financial Planning Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial planning in Arizona?
To work as a financial planner in Arizona, you typically need a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field, along with relevant FINRA licensing such as the Series 65 or Series 66, which are administered through the Arizona Corporation Commission for investment adviser representatives. Many employers also require or strongly prefer the CFP designation, awarded by the CFP Board after completing an accredited program, passing the CFP exam, and meeting experience requirements.
How much do financial plannings make in Arizona?
Financial plannings in Arizona earn a median of about $96,950 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,330 for the lowest 10% to over $212,630 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire financial plannings in Arizona?
Employers hiring financial plannings in Arizona right now include Osaic, TEEMA, and Vixxo, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's concentration of major financial services operations and large self-insured employers makes it a consistent market for both retail and institutional financial planning roles.
Which Arizona cities have the most financial planning jobs?
Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe are the Arizona cities with the most financial planning openings. The Phoenix metro drives the majority of demand given its density of corporate headquarters, regional bank operations, and wealth management firms, while Scottsdale's affluent population and concentration of independent advisory practices and private banking offices account for significant hiring in that corridor.
Are there remote financial planning jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than many financial roles, since financial planning work is largely analytical and relationship-based rather than physically hands-on. About 75% of financial planning openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the industry's growing comfort with virtual client meetings and cloud-based planning tools. Portfolio review, financial analysis, and plan preparation tasks are the most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a financial planning in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a paraplanner or financial planning associate role, which large Arizona firms such as Fidelity Investments and Charles Schwab regularly post as structured entry points for candidates without advisory experience. Completing a CFP Board-registered education program at Arizona State University or the University of Arizona strengthens any application considerably. Lateral moves from banking, insurance, or accounting roles are also common, and holding an active Series 65 license before applying gives candidates a clear edge over other entry-level applicants.
Where can I find and apply to financial planning jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to financial planning jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and credentials, and apply directly to each position that fits.
