Becoming a tax senior manager in Arizona typically starts with earning a CPA license through the Arizona State Board of Accountancy, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination and meeting Arizona's education and experience requirements. Most candidates build their foundation in public accounting or corporate tax roles, progressing from staff or senior associate to manager before reaching the senior manager level. A master's degree in taxation strengthens candidacy and can accelerate that path.
How much do tax senior managers make in Arizona?

Arizona's mix of Fortune 500 regional headquarters, large healthcare systems, and Big Four and regional public accounting firms generates consistent demand for senior-level tax professionals across the Phoenix metro and Tucson.
Which Arizona cities have the most tax senior manager jobs?
Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale account for the largest concentration of tax senior manager openings in Arizona. Phoenix drives the bulk of demand as the state's primary corporate and financial services hub, home to major accounting firms, insurance carriers, and public company headquarters, while Scottsdale's concentration of wealth management firms and Tucson's university-adjacent professional services market contribute additional openings.
