CPT Business Operations Associate Jobs
Business Operations Associate roles cover process improvement, vendor coordination, cross-functional project support, and data reporting, work that maps directly onto business administration, operations management, and supply chain curricula. CPT authorization requires your DSO to confirm the role is an integral part of your enrolled program, so job descriptions and offer letters need to name those functional areas explicitly.

Get Access To All JobsBusiness Operations Associate CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Business Operations Associate role qualify for CPT?
Yes, if your school's program includes coursework in business administration, operations management, or organizational strategy, and the role involves duties like process improvement, data analysis, or cross-functional project support. Your DSO makes the final determination. Bring a detailed job description to your CPT authorization appointment so they can confirm the curriculum connection.
Can I work part-time as a Business Operations Associate on CPT while taking classes?
Part-time CPT allows up to 20 hours per week and has no impact on your OPT eligibility. Full-time CPT, which is more than 20 hours per week, counts against OPT if you use it for 12 months or more. Many operations roles offer hybrid or flexible schedules, so clarify your expected weekly hours with the employer before your DSO submits the CPT authorization.
What should the offer letter say to support my CPT application?
The offer letter needs to name specific duties, your exact start and end dates, your weekly hours, and the work location. Generic titles without functional detail make it harder for your DSO to link the role to your curriculum. Ask the recruiter or hiring manager to list responsibilities like vendor management, operational reporting, or workflow analysis rather than just the job title.
How do I find Business Operations Associate jobs that work well with CPT?
Search Migrate Mate for Business Operations Associate roles. Employers with Labor Condition Application filing history on file have already worked through DOL documentation requirements, which signals familiarity with work authorization processes. That makes the initial CPT conversation and any future visa discussions more straightforward than approaching employers with no prior sponsorship activity.
Does CPT authorization transfer if my employer changes my job title or duties?
No. CPT is authorized for a specific employer, role, and date range as listed on your I-20. If your employer changes your title to something outside your authorized description, or significantly shifts your responsibilities, you need a new CPT authorization from your DSO before the change takes effect. Notify your DSO proactively rather than after the fact to protect your F-1 status.
