Get Access To All JobsEnterprise Account Director CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Enterprise Account Director role qualify for CPT authorization?
It qualifies if the work is an integral part of your curriculum and your DSO approves it. Most business, sales management, and MBA programs include enterprise sales or strategic account management as a practicum component. The role's emphasis on revenue strategy, client negotiation, and cross-functional leadership typically maps well to graduate-level business coursework, but your program's specific CPT policy is what determines eligibility.
Can I work full-time as an Enterprise Account Director on CPT?
Full-time CPT is allowed, but using it for 12 months or more eliminates your OPT eligibility entirely. Most F-1 students in director-level roles choose part-time CPT during the academic year and full-time CPT only during summer or final semesters, preserving OPT for post-graduation. Talk to your DSO before committing to a full-time schedule that runs across multiple semesters.
How do I find Enterprise Account Director jobs that support F-1 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Enterprise Account Director roles filtered by employers with documented sponsorship history, which is more reliable than reading job posting disclaimers. Look for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for similar titles. Companies in enterprise software, financial services, and managed services tend to have the HR infrastructure to support CPT students and subsequent H-1B visa filings.
What happens to my CPT authorization if the employer changes my title or responsibilities mid-internship?
Your CPT authorization is tied to the specific employer and the role description your DSO approved. If your title changes to something materially different, like moving from a director-in-training track to a pure sales contributor role, your DSO may require a new authorization. Report any significant scope changes promptly to avoid an unauthorized employment finding, which can jeopardize your F-1 status.
Does CPT experience as an Enterprise Account Director count toward H-1B specialty occupation?
CPT work experience can support the specialty occupation argument in an H-1B petition, particularly for roles requiring strategic analysis, financial forecasting, and team leadership. Your employer's attorney will typically include offer letters, performance reviews, and job duty documentation from your CPT period. O*NET classifies sales management roles under occupation codes that require bachelor's-level preparation, which strengthens the specialty occupation case.
