The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
- Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to:
- Dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures
- Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures
- Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors
- Vacuuming and shampooing carpet
- Re-stocking restrooms
- Replacing light bulbs
- Reporting repairs
Most of the work is indoors but may assist with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof. Various cleaning activities may include the use of a ladder.

Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.

Removes waste by:
- Collecting and transporting soiled linen
- Emptying trash containers
- Changing sharps containers
- Transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors
- Recycling material

Emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas

Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.

Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.

Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.

Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
Qualified Candidates:
• Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Preferred: One year experience
• Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
• Can operate equipment
• Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers

Does CPT work as an Environmental Attorney count toward bar admission requirements?
It depends on your state's rules and the nature of your duties. Many states allow law students to count supervised practice hours toward pro bono or clinical requirements, but CPT itself isn't automatically recognized as qualifying legal experience for bar admission purposes. Confirm with your law school's career office and the relevant state bar before accepting the role.
Can I work full-time as an Environmental Attorney on CPT?
Full-time CPT, defined as 20 or more hours per week by USCIS, is allowed but comes with a significant consequence: 12 months of full-time CPT exhausts your OPT eligibility entirely. Most environmental law students on CPT work part-time during the semester and reserve full-time CPT for summer positions to protect their post-graduation OPT.
What documents does an environmental law employer typically need to onboard a CPT student?
You'll need your I-20 with the CPT authorization endorsement, your EAD isn't required for CPT, and your current visa stamp. Employers must also complete Form I-9 verification. Some federal agencies and government contractors additionally require E-Verify completion, which is compatible with CPT. Bring your original documents, photocopies don't satisfy I-9 requirements.
