Adult Mental Health Rehabilitative Services (ARMHS) Practitioners teach and instruct individuals with qualifying mental health diagnoses behavioral skills to assist them in increasing their capacity for independent living and improve their quality of life. Successful ARMHS services result in individuals improved emotional and mental health to regain or maintain their stable functioning.
CSSM values its staff and offers a supportive, team-oriented work environment which provides employees opportunities to learn and expand their base of knowledge and skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, review, and update Functional Assessments and Individual Treatment Plans
- Provide skills training sessions to clients in the home or community settings
- Documentation of service provision and collateral contacts
- Coordination of care with client’s care team
- Participate in individual supervision and ARMHS program meetings
- Complete ongoing continuing education
- Maintain consistent scheduling with clients across CSSM’s service area
Some areas of focus within ARMHS include but are not limited to: Communication/social skills, community resource utilization, symptom management and relapse prevention, budgeting and healthy lifestyle practices, household management, and employment-related skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Does mental health therapy work qualify as CPT for F-1 students?
Yes, if your program curriculum explicitly requires supervised clinical practice and the placement site provides that experience under a licensed supervisor. Can I do CPT at a private therapy practice, or does it have to be a clinic or hospital?
Private practices can qualify for CPT as long as the placement meets your program's curricular requirement and your DSO approves it. The key is whether a licensed supervisor can document your hours in the format your program and any future licensure board require. Solo practices without a clear supervision structure are sometimes harder to authorize than group practices or clinics.
How do I find mental health therapy employers who understand F-1 CPT authorization?

If your clinical program requires a full-time internship semester, confirm with your DSO how that counts toward the 12-month threshold before you accept the placement.
What documents does a mental health therapy employer need to authorize my CPT?
Most DSOs require a written offer or placement letter on employer letterhead stating the job title, supervisor's name and license number, start and end dates, and whether the position is part-time or full-time. Some programs also require a training or supervision agreement. Collect these before your DSO appointment, because missing the supervisor's license information is the most common reason CPT authorization gets delayed in clinical placements.
