ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Our hospital Executive Internship provides meaningful mentorship and real‑world exposure to the challenges and rewards of hospital administration. Interns gain hands-on experience supporting strategic, operational, and quality initiatives within the hospital environment. Interns will participate in leadership meetings, collaborate with key hospital committees, and contribute to performance improvement work throughout the facility.
Completing this internship gives students a significant competitive advantage when applying for the Executive Fellowship. Through the internship, students gain:
- Direct exposure to Select Medical hospital operations
- Established relationships with hospital leadership
- A strong understanding of organizational goals and performance priorities
- Hands‑on experience that aligns with the fellowship’s core competencies

- Governing Board meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be currently enrolled in an MHA or MBA program.

A generic executive title without documented project oversight responsibilities may not satisfy the integral curriculum requirement your school must certify.
Can I do CPT as a Project Executive at a company with no prior F-1 hiring history?
Yes, CPT authorization is issued by your school, not sponsored by the employer, so the employer doesn't need prior F-1 experience to hire you on CPT. The risk is practical: employers unfamiliar with CPT may delay onboarding or mishandle I-9 documentation. Briefing the hiring manager on CPT mechanics before your start date prevents most of these issues.
How do I find Project Executive employers who understand CPT work authorization?

Yes. Twelve months or more of full-time CPT eliminates your OPT eligibility entirely. Part-time CPT, regardless of duration, doesn't affect it.
