About UEP
Founded in 2015, Upper Echelon Products (UEP) is a data-driven consumer products company and one of the top 1% of US sellers on Amazon. What began with a single umbrella brand — Repel® — has grown into a global portfolio of eight distinct product lines and over 120 SKUs, generating more than $100M in annual revenue. Our brands include Repel® and Rain-Mate® umbrellas, Everlasting Comfort® memory foam products, Le Chateau® wine decanters, Café du Chateau® coffee makers, LumiLux Toilet Light®, Triton® dog leashes, and Flux Phenom® magnetic screen doors. Headquartered in Austin, TX with an office in Shenzhen, UEP operates as a lean, collaborative team of approximately 20 US-based employees and a growing global network — united by a culture that values analytical thinking, diverse perspectives, and continuous innovation. We're scaling our in-house content and LIVE program on TikTok Shop and looking for someone who can create, shoot, and post content that actually converts — not just theory, real reps in front of a real audience.
About the Role
As our Marketing Content Intern, you'll be part of the content — not just behind the camera. You'll shoot raw short-form video, co-host live TikTok sessions, and help fuel our growing in-house content engine.
- Shoot raw short-form video in-office: product demos, unboxings, day-in-the-life, employee features
- Co-host scheduled in-office TikTok LIVE sessions
- Log and hand off raw footage to our content contractor with basic context/notes
What You Need
- Based in Austin, able to come into the office 8 hrs/week (two 4-hour shifts)
- Active TikTok user, comfortable on camera and live, no exceptions
- Currently enrolled at (or recently graduated from) a local college, or otherwise Austin-based
- Reliable, punctual, with consistent weekly availability
Nice to Have
- Prior on-camera or content creation experience (personal TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
- Basic shooting/lighting know-how — framing, natural light, phone gimbal
- Comfortable improvising on LIVE without a script
Compensation & Perks
- Paid internship
- Commission on sales attributed to your content/LIVEs
- Real reps producing content for a real audience — not busywork
- A seat in a fast-moving, in-office content operation
Start Date: Late Aug–early Sep 2026, timed to our new in-office LIVE studio launch!
To Apply: Submit your resume and be sure to include your TikTok/portfolio link!

Does a Social Media Content internship qualify for CPT authorization?
It qualifies if the work is an integral part of your enrolled program and your DSO approves it before you start. A content creation or digital marketing internship typically satisfies this requirement for students in communications, journalism, or marketing programs. Roles in adjacent fields like graphic design or PR may require a stronger written justification tying the duties to your specific coursework.
Can I work part-time as a Social Media Content creator while taking a full course load?
Yes. Part-time CPT, defined as fewer than 20 hours per week, is authorized concurrently with a full course load and doesn't count against your OPT eligibility regardless of how many semesters you use it. Full-time CPT during an academic semester is less common and requires explicit program justification, so confirm the threshold with your DSO before negotiating your hours.
How do I find Social Media Content employers that accept CPT students?
Migrate Mate lets you filter for employers with documented sponsorship and work authorization filing history so you can focus on companies already comfortable with nonimmigrant work authorization. Social media and content roles are concentrated in media, e-commerce, and technology companies, and targeting those sectors on Migrate Mate reduces time spent on employers unfamiliar with CPT onboarding.
Does Social Media Content CPT experience count toward an H-1B specialty occupation claim?
It can, if the role required and you applied a bachelor's-level body of knowledge in communications, marketing, or a related field. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation on the degree requirement of the position, not the visa status you held while doing the work. Document the analytical and strategic components of your CPT duties so they're available as evidence if you later file an H-1B visa petition.
What happens to my CPT authorization if my employer changes my job duties mid-internship?
Your CPT authorization is tied to the specific position your DSO approved. If your duties shift significantly, for example from content writing to paid advertising management, you need an updated authorization before performing those new tasks. Notify your DSO promptly and provide a revised offer letter or supervisor statement; working outside your authorized scope puts your F-1 status at risk.
