Creative Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a creative manager in Tennessee?
Creative manager roles in Tennessee do not require a state-issued license or board certification. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in a creative discipline such as graphic design, marketing, or communications, combined with several years of hands-on creative work before moving into management. Building a strong portfolio, gaining experience with Nashville's entertainment and healthcare brand landscape, and developing team leadership skills are the most direct paths to qualifying for these roles.
How much do creative managers make in Tennessee?
Creative managers in Tennessee earn a median of about $89,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,530 for the lowest 10% to over $172,130 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire creative managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring creative managers in Tennessee right now include USI Insurance Services, Marsh McLennan Agency, and Nexstar Media Group, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Tennessee's mix of corporate headquarters, regional advertising agencies, and entertainment-sector brands creates consistent demand across both in-house and agency-side creative management roles.
Which Tennessee cities have the most creative manager jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Franklin have the most creative manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville dominates because of its concentration of entertainment companies, healthcare system marketing departments, and corporate headquarters that maintain large in-house creative teams, while Memphis and Knoxville generate openings through regional agency networks, retail brands, and university marketing offices.
Are there remote creative manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than many management fields, because creative work is often deliverable-based and platform-driven rather than tied to a physical location. About 4% of creative manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how frequently brand, content, and campaign oversight can be handled off-site. Campaign strategy, content direction, and digital brand management are the sub-areas most likely to appear in fully remote listings.
How can I get hired as a creative manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a coordinator or junior designer role at a Nashville agency or in-house marketing team, then building toward a management title from within. Large Tennessee employers like HCA Healthcare and Bridgestone Americas hire creative coordinators and brand associates who can grow into management. A focused portfolio demonstrating campaign or brand work, even from freelance or academic projects, is the credential that opens doors in the absence of a formal management title.
Where can I find and apply to creative manager jobs in Tennessee?
