Creative Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a creative manager in Pennsylvania?
Most creative managers in Pennsylvania enter the field with a bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising, or communications, then advance from individual contributor roles such as designer or copywriter into team leadership. Pennsylvania does not require a state-issued license for this role. Philadelphia-area agencies, Pittsburgh technology and healthcare companies, and large in-house brand teams across the state typically promote senior creatives who demonstrate project ownership and people management skills.
How much do creative managers make in Pennsylvania?
Creative managers in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $97,450 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $65,470 for the lowest 10% to over $149,940 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire creative managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring creative managers in Pennsylvania right now include Robert Half, 28 Collective, and Urban Outfitters, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of large retail headquarters, media companies, and health system marketing departments means in-house creative manager roles appear consistently alongside agency positions.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most creative manager jobs?
Philadelphia, Freeport, and Canonsburg are the cities with the most creative manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia drives the largest share through its headquarters-dense retail corridor, advertising agencies, and media companies, while Pittsburgh's growing technology and healthcare sectors generate steady in-house demand, and smaller markets like Harrisburg and Allentown reflect regional corporate and institutional marketing teams.
Are there remote creative manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than many management roles. About 0% of creative manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and digital nature of most creative work. Brand strategy, content development, and digital campaign management are the functions most commonly offered with location flexibility, while roles tied to production studios or on-site retail teams tend to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a creative manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a junior creative or coordinator role at a Philadelphia or Pittsburgh agency, then building toward team leadership from within. Large Pennsylvania employers such as Comcast and Urban Outfitters run structured marketing associate programs that hire candidates without management experience. Adjacent roles in content production, social media coordination, or account services offer lateral moves into creative management. A strong portfolio demonstrating project ownership gives candidates a clear edge over applicants with equivalent tenure but no documented creative output.
Where can I find and apply to creative manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
