Position Overview

The Commercial Lines Producer is responsible for driving new business production across Commercial Lines insurance within the self-storage industry, while also supporting new business and cross sell activity within Tenant Insurance (TI) and Tenant Protection (TP) programs.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development, Commercial Lines

• Prospect, source, and close new Commercial Lines accounts within the self-storage industry, including facility owners, operators, and related businesses.
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified commercial prospects within the self-storage niche.
• Develop and execute a personal business plan to meet assigned production goals.
• Negotiate terms and coverage placement with carriers and underwriters as needed.

Tenant Insurance and Tenant Protection Sales

• Close new TI and TP business within assigned self-storage operator relationships.
• Support cross sell and upsell of TI and TP products within the existing operator book.
• Partner with Account Management to identify growth opportunities within current accounts.

Sales Process and Pipeline Management

• Maintain accurate and current pipeline records within the company CRM.
• Provide regular forecasting and pipeline updates to sales leadership.
• Follow the defined sales process from prospecting through close and handoff to Account Management.

Client Relationship Management

• Build strong, lasting relationships with new commercial clients and self-storage operators.
• Ensure a smooth transition of closed accounts to Account Management for ongoing servicing.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on coverage needs throughout the sales process.

Market and Product Knowledge

• Maintain strong working knowledge of Commercial Lines products, underwriting appetite, and market conditions within the self-storage industry.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of TI and TP products and the self-storage industry.
• Maintain all required producer licensing in good standing.

Key Performance Indicators

• New Commercial Lines Written Premium
• New TI and TP Closed Revenue
• Pipeline Development and Conversion Rate
• Client Retention on Written Accounts
• Producer Licensing and Compliance Standing

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

• Active Property and Casualty Producer license in good standing, or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe of hire.
• Demonstrated success in Commercial Lines sales, new business production, or related B2B sales.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Ability to manage a diverse pipeline across multiple product lines.

Preferred

• Experience within the self-storage industry or specialty program business.
• Familiarity with tenant insurance or tenant protection products.
