Creative Producer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a creative producer in Texas?
Most Texas employers hire creative producers who hold a bachelor's degree in film production, communications, advertising, or a related field. Texas has no state-issued license specific to creative producers, so the path runs through portfolio development, internships at Austin or Dallas agencies, and early roles such as production assistant or coordinator. Building credits on regional commercial, branded content, or narrative projects through Texas's active production community is the most reliable way to advance.
How much do creative producers make in Texas?
Creative producers in Texas earn a median of about $71,710 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $40,610 for the lowest 10% to over $146,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire creative producers in Texas?
Employers hiring creative producers in Texas right now include Nexstar Media Group, Amazon, and Energy Exploration Technologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major advertising agencies, and entertainment studios makes it one of the more active states for creative production hiring year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most creative producer jobs?
Austin, Abilene, and Brownsville have the most creative producer openings in Texas. Dallas's dense cluster of advertising agencies and corporate brand teams drives much of the volume, Austin's tech and media companies fuel steady demand, and Houston's energy sector and large medical institutions increasingly run in-house content studios that need experienced producers.
Are there remote creative producer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many creative roles, because a meaningful portion of pre-production, post-production coordination, and campaign management can be handled off-site. About 0% of creative producer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how widely employers have adopted flexible arrangements for this role. Pre-production planning and client communication lend themselves most readily to remote work, while on-set production days typically require a physical presence.
How can I get hired as a creative producer in Texas with little or no experience?
Starting as a production assistant or project coordinator at a Dallas or Austin agency is the most realistic entry point. Large Texas employers such as AT&T and major agency groups regularly bring on junior producers through internship pipelines and new-grad programs. Building a portfolio of short-form branded or editorial work, even through student or independent projects, gives candidates a concrete edge. Adjacent roles in social media content, event production, or post-production coordination also serve as recognized stepping stones into a full creative producer position.
