Data Analyst Intern Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analyst intern in New York?
Data analyst intern roles in New York do not require a state-issued license or exam. Most candidates enter through undergraduate or graduate programs in statistics, data science, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field at New York institutions. Building a portfolio of SQL and Python projects, completing relevant coursework, and applying to structured intern programs at New York's major finance, media, and healthcare employers is the most direct path.
Which companies hire data analyst interns in New York?
Employers hiring data analyst interns in New York right now include Microsoft, Betfair Interactive U.S., and Peloton Interactive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York City's concentration of financial institutions, media companies, and large hospital systems means intern openings appear year-round rather than only during traditional summer recruiting cycles.
Which New York cities have the most data analyst intern jobs?
New York, New York City, and Bronx have the most data analyst intern openings in New York. New York City accounts for the largest share by far, driven by its density of financial services firms, advertising and media groups, and large healthcare networks, while Albany's state government agencies and Buffalo's growing tech and healthcare sectors generate consistent demand outside the metro.
Are there remote data analyst intern jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 26% of data analyst intern openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how naturally desk-based and laptop-driven this work is. Tasks like SQL querying, dashboard building, and exploratory data analysis translate well to remote formats, making fully remote arrangements more common here than in hands-on or lab-based intern roles.
How can I get hired as a data analyst intern in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to structured undergraduate intern programs at New York's large employers before building a lengthy resume. JPMorgan Chase, Pfizer, and major New York media companies run formal intern tracks for candidates with coursework but minimal professional history. A portfolio of two or three completed data projects using publicly available datasets, strong SQL fundamentals, and familiarity with Tableau or Power BI consistently edges candidates ahead of those relying on coursework alone.
Where can I find and apply to data analyst intern jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to data analyst intern jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
