The AEP Data Product Owner will play a critical role in enabling that vision by ensuring our customer data is trusted, well-governed, and activated to power personalized journeys, end-to-end measurement, and next-generation marketing experiences. It's not about the data itself, but the customer experiences that data can enable.
Key Responsibilities:
Real-Time CDP Enablement
Lead the data enablement of Real-Time CDP use cases — profile orchestration, audience creation, and real-time activation — to power personalized customer journeys.
Ensure high-fidelity behavioral and profile data is captured and mapped correctly into AEP to fuel next-generation marketing strategies across AJO, CJA, and downstream destinations.
Own a future-proof data product roadmap for AEP that prioritizes scalability, personalization at scale, and rapid deployment of new customer experience capabilities.
Data Integrity & Platform Health
Define and maintain the standard for AEP data assets — XDM schemas, identity namespaces, and profile merge policies — to keep data clean, trusted, and usable.
Monitor dataflow health; proactively identify and resolve data issues before they impact marketing performance.
Manage the lifecycle, including feature adoption, data quality standards, and governance in partnership with Technology, Privacy and Legal.
Strategic Data Liaison
Act as the primary data point of contact for Adobe — influencing product roadmap and ensuring Ameriprise's data needs are prioritized.
Partner with Technology, Marketing, and Analytics teams on customer data strategy, identity resolution, and use case enablement.
Develop data KPIs to track data quality, ingestion latency, profile health, license consumption, and the efficiency of audience activation.
License Usage & Consumption Management
Monitor AEP license consumption across profiles, data volume, compute, etc, proactively identify overage risks and lead remediation strategies.
Own data retention, TTL, and ingestion optimization decisions that keep the platform within contracted license thresholds without compromising business use cases.
Provide usage insights and forecasts to leadership to inform investment decisions, true-ups, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, data science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5 or more years of relevant experience in marketing technology, data product management, or customer data platform operations.
2 or more years of hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Platform / Real-Time CDP, including working knowledge of XDM schemas, Identity Service and Profile Service.
Proven experience owning a data product backlog and roadmap in an Agile environment.
Strong understanding of data ingestion (batch and streaming), data quality management, and identity resolution strategy.
Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for executive audiences.
Preferred Skills:
Adobe Certified Expert — Real-Time CDP Business Practitioner or Adobe Experience Platform credentials.
Hands-on experience with Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) and/or Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
Familiarity with SQL, data profiling, and data quality tools; experience with Dataiku or similar platforms.
Experience with data & analytics transformation (current-state assessment, strategy development, value case, roadmap).
Business translation skills — identifying business problems, translating them into use cases and data/mar-tech capabilities, and storytelling for leadership audiences.

Data Product Manager Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data product manager in North Carolina?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a data product manager in North Carolina. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, though many hire candidates with degrees in economics, statistics, or engineering. North Carolina's large university system, including NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke, produces strong pipelines into the role. Building a portfolio of data roadmap artifacts and earning a product management certification from organizations like the Product School or AIPMM strengthens your candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire data product managers in North Carolina?
Employers hiring data product managers in North Carolina right now include Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, Corning, and SAS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. North Carolina's concentration of financial services firms in Charlotte and research-driven technology companies along the Research Triangle corridor means openings appear across a wide range of industries and company sizes.
Which North Carolina cities have the most data product manager jobs?
Charlotte, Cary, and Durham have the most data product manager openings in North Carolina. Charlotte's dominance comes from its status as the second-largest banking center in the country, while Raleigh and Durham benefit from the Research Triangle's dense cluster of technology firms, contract research organizations, and university-affiliated health systems that all invest heavily in data product teams.
Are there remote data product manager jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, and more than most fields. Data product management is largely a desk-based, collaborative role that translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 80% of data product manager openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how common distributed product teams have become. The portions of the role most likely to be fully remote are roadmap planning, stakeholder alignment, and backlog grooming, while discovery work with embedded data teams tends to favor hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a data product manager in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a data analyst or business analyst role, where you already manage stakeholder expectations and translate data findings into recommendations. North Carolina employers like Fidelity Investments in Research Triangle Park and Centene in Charlotte run rotational associate programs that place analytically strong candidates into junior product roles. Building a portfolio that includes a sample product requirements document or a prioritized data backlog, and earning a foundational certification, signals readiness to hiring managers when direct product experience is thin.
Where can I find and apply to data product manager jobs in North Carolina?
You can find and apply to data product manager jobs in North Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current North Carolina openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No profile creation is required to see and apply to openings.
