Description
Upon joining our team as a Hardware System Lead, you will be directly applying your engineering expertise and working with many cross-functional teams to realize products that consumers will love! We collaborate with a large number of groups to bring a product from concept to mass production.

Our goal is to help define exciting product features that will touch our customers. Therefore you’ll have the ability to solve challenging engineering problems by selecting components, designing schematics, directing layout, and bringing up/ debugging circuits in the lab.

You will work alongside partner teams to realize prototypes to aid in product definition and user testing.

You will have access to state of the art test equipment in labs to perform characterization of your circuits. You will also be able to define test criteria and execute these test plans on functional prototypes to demonstrate the robustness of your designs.

You will work with a distributed team across multiple Apple sites.

Some domestic & international travels will be required.
This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and proactive collaboration. You are curious minded, always seeking to learn while offering your expertise to teach and help others.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
7+ years hardware development engineering in a team environment.
Experience with schematic capture & layout review.
Experience in prototyping, bring-up, debug and validation.
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing high volume products from beginning to end with contract manufacturers.
Experience as a technical lead and/or mentoring team members.
Ability to understand and identify product tradeoffs (power, performance, etc.) and optimize designs to meet requirements.
Working knowledge of embedded systems with focus on meeting tight constraints (i.e. power, size).
Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: CPU/SOC, power(DC-DC converters, battery, power management, low power design), analog circuits, wireless systems, sensor design and integration.
Experience working with mechanical design and software development teams.
Experience with high speed and low speed digital interfaces.
Expertise in electrical CAD tools, such as Cadence Concept and Allegro.
Strong social skills across organizations and at the executive level.
Excellent written skills for clear reporting of data analysis and conclusions.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
