Development Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a development manager job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's Southside and Downtown business corridors, where financial services firms, health systems, and defense contractors concentrate their technology and operations teams. Candidates with experience managing cross-functional teams in financial services or healthcare IT have a strong edge locally. Tailoring your resume to show P&L ownership or budget responsibility also stands out with Jacksonville employers, who tend to weigh business outcomes over technical credentials alone.
Which companies hire development managers in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring development managers in Jacksonville right now include BSF, CSX, and Sika, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's hiring base skews toward large financial institutions, regional health systems, and defense and logistics contractors, all of which maintain sizable development teams with ongoing management needs.
Are there remote development manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type. Development manager positions tied to hands-on team oversight or on-site project delivery tend to require in-person presence, while those in software development or IT product management are more commonly remote-eligible. About 31% of development manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with financial services and technology roles leading that share locally.
How can I get a development manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is moving into a team lead or senior individual contributor role at one of the city's large financial services firms or health systems, which regularly promote from within. Entry-level project coordinator and scrum master roles at Jacksonville's defense contractors and logistics companies also serve as common stepping stones. Earning a PMP or comparable credential strengthens your case with local employers who use formal project frameworks.
Which industries hire the most development managers in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville development manager roles concentrate in Chemicals & Materials, Staffing & Recruiting, and Transportation & Logistics, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's role as a regional hub for financial services back-office operations, a growing healthcare IT sector, and a significant military and defense presence drives consistent demand for development managers across those fields.
