Dietitian Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a dietitian in Georgia?
To work as a dietitian in Georgia, you must obtain a license from the Georgia Secretary of State's Professional Licensing Boards division, which oversees dietitian licensure in the state. Licensure requires a qualifying degree in dietetics or nutrition, completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program, and passing the Commission on Dietetic Registration exam to earn the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential. Georgia does not participate in a multistate licensure compact, so out-of-state dietitians must apply for a Georgia license directly.
How much do dietitians make in Georgia?
Dietitians in Georgia earn a median of about $73,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,250 for the lowest 10% to over $96,430 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire dietitians in Georgia?
Employers hiring dietitians in Georgia right now include DaVita, Piedmont Healthcare, and Morrison Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's large integrated health systems and long-term care networks generate the most consistent volume of dietitian openings across the state.
Which Georgia cities have the most dietitian jobs?
Atlanta, Augusta, and Savannah have the most dietitian job openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to the concentration of major health systems like Emory, Piedmont, and WellStar, while Augusta benefits from the presence of Augusta University Medical Center and its affiliated facilities, and Savannah draws demand from Memorial Health and regional outpatient networks serving the coastal Georgia population.
Are there remote dietitian jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many dietitian roles involve direct patient assessment and hands-on clinical work. About 39% of dietitian openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting real but limited flexibility. Telehealth nutrition counseling, corporate wellness consulting, and eating disorder coaching are the sub-areas most likely to offer fully remote arrangements for Georgia-based dietitians.
How can I get hired as a dietitian in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to Georgia hospital systems that run new-graduate clinical dietitian programs or structured residencies, such as those offered through Emory Healthcare and Piedmont Health. Entry-level clinical nutrition assistant and diet technician roles at large Georgia facilities are a common stepping stone, and candidates who already hold their Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential have a clear edge when competing for those first positions. Focusing your search on long-term care facilities and outpatient clinics, which tend to have shorter hiring cycles than large academic medical centers, is a practical approach for candidates building their first years of experience.
Where can I find and apply to dietitian jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to dietitian jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and credentials, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
