Director Of Program Management Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a director of program management in Nebraska?
Nebraska does not require a state-issued license to work as a director of program management, so the path runs through education and professional credentials. Most hiring managers in Nebraska expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field, often alongside a PMP credential from the Project Management Institute. Candidates typically build toward the director level through roles as project manager or senior program manager, accumulating experience in industries that hire heavily in the state, such as defense, financial services, and healthcare.
How much do director of program managements make in Nebraska?
Director of program managements in Nebraska earn a median of about $80,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,630 for the lowest 10% to over $129,560 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director of program managements in Nebraska?
Employers hiring director of program managements in Nebraska right now include KPMG, CVS Health, and Physicians Mutual, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's concentration of defense contractors in the Bellevue and Papillion area near Offutt Air Force Base, alongside large corporate headquarters in Omaha such as Mutual of Omaha and Union Pacific, makes the state a consistent source of senior program management demand.
Which Nebraska cities have the most director of program management jobs?
The cities with the most director of program management openings in Nebraska are Omaha, Lincoln, and Elkhorn. Omaha drives the largest share of postings as the headquarters hub for major corporations in financial services, logistics, and healthcare, while Lincoln benefits from its concentration of state government agencies, university system administration, and growing technology employers, and Bellevue's openings are anchored by defense and federal contracting activity around Offutt Air Force Base.
Are there remote director of program management jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, and more than many senior leadership roles, since program management at the director level is largely strategic and desk-based rather than tied to a physical facility. About 33% of director of program management openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader corporate flexibility for senior contributors. The functions most likely to be performed remotely include portfolio governance, executive reporting, and vendor management, while roles tied to defense contracts or regulated healthcare operations typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a director of program management in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a foundation in project coordination or a junior project manager role within industries that hire heavily in Nebraska, such as financial services, healthcare, or defense contracting. Mutual of Omaha and Nebraska Medicine, for example, regularly post associate project manager and project coordinator positions that feed into senior tracks over time. Earning a CAPM credential from the Project Management Institute while still in an entry role signals commitment to the profession. Lateral moves from operations analyst, business analyst, or program coordinator roles are also common stepping stones toward the director level in Nebraska organizations.
Where can I find and apply to director of program management jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to director of program management jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue, and other Nebraska locations. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background.
