Driver Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a driver job in Columbus?
Focus your search on the sectors hiring most aggressively in Columbus: warehouse and distribution operations around Rickenbacker Airport, last-mile delivery in the Easton and Polaris corridors, and passenger transport tied to the Columbus Metro Area. Employers in healthcare, food service, and logistics tend to hire quickly. A clean driving record, familiarity with Columbus routes, and a CDL where the role requires one will give you a clear edge over the competition.
Which companies hire drivers in Columbus?
Employers hiring drivers in Columbus right now include Domino's, MedSpeed, and Allied Universal, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Columbus attracts a broad mix of regional distribution centers, healthcare networks, and food and beverage operators, all of which maintain ongoing driver needs.
Are there remote driver jobs in Columbus?
Remote work is rare for hands-on driver roles by nature, since the work is location-dependent. About 0% of driver openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, which mostly reflects dispatch coordination, route planning, or fleet management roles rather than behind-the-wheel positions. Columbus-based logistics and transit companies occasionally post these desk-side roles for candidates with a dispatch or operations background.
How can I get a driver job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Columbus is applying for non-CDL delivery roles with food service distributors, courier operations, or healthcare transport companies, many of which train on the job. Employers in the Rickenbacker area and along the I-270 corridor routinely hire entry-level drivers with a valid license and a clean record. Starting as a delivery associate or shuttle driver builds local route knowledge and positions you for higher-paying CDL roles over time.
Which industries hire the most drivers in Columbus?
The sectors hiring the most drivers in Columbus are Automotive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Columbus's role as a major Midwest distribution hub, anchored by the Rickenbacker logistics complex and a large healthcare and food service base, drives consistent year-round demand across these sectors.
