E-3 Visa Circuit Design Engineer Jobs
Circuit Design Engineer roles in the U.S. qualify as E-3 specialty occupations, requiring a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Australian professionals can secure E-3 visa sponsorship without competing in the H-1B lottery, with two-year terms that renew indefinitely as long as you hold a qualifying offer.

INTRODUCTION
We are now hiring for a Circuit Design Engineer for Standard Cell and/or ROM. NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. NVIDIA's invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “the AI computing company”. We are looking to grow our company and teams with the best people in the world. We're rapidly growing our research and development for Inference. We specialize in developing GPU-accelerated Deep Learning software. Researchers around the world are using NVIDIA GPUs to power a revolution in Deep Learning and enabling breakthroughs in numerous areas.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What You Will Be Doing
- Work on the cutting edge standard cell libraries and/or custom ROM (Read Only Memory) modules in deep submicron technologies.
- Drive the concepts of the transistor level standard cell circuit design, modeling and performance analysis process.
- Lead the function/feasibility verification of new ROM designs and the setup of new design flows.
- Provide creative new insights to support existing tools and flows and develop new simulations to perform design margin evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross function teams with regards to standard cell design improvement opportunities. We will improve on our quality checks on the libraries.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Circuit Design Engineer
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
DOL requires your degree to directly relate to the Circuit Design Engineer role, not just engineering broadly. A three-year Australian bachelor's in electrical engineering is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but confirm your transcript reflects the relevant coursework.
Target employers with active DOL LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify companies that have filed LCAs for electrical or hardware engineering roles. Prior filings signal the employer already understands the sponsorship process and is less likely to withdraw an offer mid-application.
Find Circuit Design Engineer roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to search Circuit Design Engineer openings filtered for E-3 visa sponsorship. The platform surfaces roles from employers with verified sponsorship history, cutting out the guesswork of cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the E-3 process.
Address the prevailing wage requirement before negotiating
Your offer letter salary must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your specific job title and work location. Wages vary significantly by metro area, so review the DOL wage data for the city where the role is based before discussing compensation with the employer.
Clarify the LCA filing timeline with your employer early
The employer must file a certified LCA with DOL before you can apply for your E-3 visa at the consulate. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but building that into the start-date timeline avoids last-minute pressure on both sides.
Streamline your filing with end-to-end support
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from offer acceptance through consulate appointment. This matters most for circuit design roles at smaller hardware or semiconductor firms where HR teams have no prior E-3 experience.
E-3 Visa Circuit Design Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Circuit Design Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters Circuit Design Engineer roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility and surfaces employers with a track record of sponsoring Australian professionals. Searching general job boards means manually screening hundreds of postings for companies willing to file an LCA, which most HR teams at hardware or semiconductor firms won't do unless they've done it before.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Circuit Design Engineer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field as a minimum entry requirement. The job description must reflect that specific degree requirement. Roles advertised with 'relevant experience accepted in lieu of a degree' can create problems at the consulate, so confirm the offer letter and LCA language both cite a degree requirement.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Circuit Design Engineers?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any point in the year and receive a visa decision at the consulate without waiting for a selection event. H-1B registrations are capped at 85,000 per year and selected by random lottery, meaning qualified engineers are often passed over regardless of their credentials. For Australian circuit design professionals, the E-3 is the more direct and predictable path.
Can I change employers or switch to a contract role on an E-3?
You can change employers, but each new role requires a new LCA and a new E-3 visa application or change of status. The E-3 is tied to a specific employer and position, not to you individually. Contract or consulting arrangements are eligible in principle, but the contracting company must be the employer of record that files the LCA, and third-party placement structures can complicate this at the consulate.
