Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Cloud Solutions Engineer
Align your degree to the role
U.S. consular officers assess whether your Australian degree field directly supports cloud solutions engineering. A computing or IT degree maps cleanly, but a general science degree paired with AWS or Azure certifications may need a credential evaluation letter to bridge the gap.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway disclosure data to identify companies that have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for cloud or solutions engineering roles. Prior LCA filings signal an employer already understands the E-3 process and won't treat your visa as a blocker.
Confirm the job posting requires a specific degree
The E-3 requires the role to meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the position must normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. If a job ad says 'degree preferred' rather than 'required,' push the hiring team to confirm the degree requirement in your offer letter before you apply.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after receiving your offer
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This covers DOL certification, DS-160 preparation, and consulate appointment readiness so you can start without delays.
Prepare for consulate questions about cloud scope
Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth consular officers may ask how your day-to-day duties differ from general IT support. Bring role documentation that specifies cloud architecture, migration projects, or platform responsibilities to demonstrate the specialty nature of the position.
Address E-3 at the offer stage, not after
Raise E-3 sponsorship requirements during the offer negotiation, not after you've signed. Confirm the employer will file the LCA through USCIS and DOL before your start date, and clarify who covers government filing fees so there are no surprises at the paperwork stage.

Find Cloud Solutions Engineer JobsCloud Solutions Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Cloud Solutions Engineer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Cloud Solutions Engineer roles from employers who are open to E-3 visa sponsorship for Australian candidates. Filtering by E-3 eligibility removes roles where sponsorship isn't on the table, so you spend time on applications that can actually move forward rather than chasing positions where the visa conversation stalls at the HR stage.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Cloud Solutions Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Cloud Solutions Engineer positions typically qualify because they require theoretical and practical application of highly specialised knowledge in cloud architecture, platform integration, or infrastructure design, along with a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field like computer science or information systems. Consular officers review your offer letter and role description, so the job duties must match that specialty occupation standard, not just carry a technical job title.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Cloud Solutions Engineers?
For Australian nationals, the E-3 is significantly more accessible than the H-1B. There's no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any point in the year once you have a job offer and a certified LCA. The H-1B runs through a lottery with an acceptance rate well below 50 percent for most registrants, meaning qualified cloud engineers can wait years for a slot. The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted.
Can I switch Cloud Solutions Engineer employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a new LCA and visa documentation tied to the new employer before you start working there. Unlike some visa categories, the E-3 is employer-specific and doesn't transfer automatically. Your current E-3 remains valid until its expiry date for the original employer, but you can't begin work with a new company until the new LCA is DOL-certified and you either obtain a new E-3 stamp or change status through USCIS.
