Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Strategy Lead
Frame your credentials for U.S. specialty occupation
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but document the equivalency explicitly in your application. A credential evaluation letter strengthens your LCA and visa file before the employer files.
Target companies with dedicated strategy functions
Focus on employers where Strategy Lead is a defined role with a reporting line to C-suite, not a project title. Management consulting firms, Fortune 500 corporate strategy teams, and private equity-backed portfolio companies consistently sponsor E-3 roles at this level.
Raise the E-3 before the offer stage
Strategy Lead hiring processes often stall when sponsorship comes up late. Bring up E-3 eligibility during the final interview stage so the employer's legal or HR team can confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation before an offer is drafted.
Verify the prevailing wage tier matches your seniority
DOL sets four prevailing wage levels for LCA filings. A Strategy Lead should typically land at Level III or IV. If an employer's initial LCA drafts you at Level II, push back, because a mismatched wage level can complicate your visa interview.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
The LCA must be DOL-certified before your consulate appointment, and the two processes run on parallel timelines. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire sequence from LCA submission through consulate documentation so nothing falls out of order.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at your interview
Strategy Lead candidates moving from senior Australian roles often face questions about long-term intent. Have a clear, specific answer about your U.S. career objectives and planned return circumstances, since consular officers assess ties to Australia at every E-3 interview.

Find Strategy Lead JobsStrategy Lead E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Strategy Lead jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship, so it filters out positions where sponsorship isn't on the table. Search by job title and filter for E-3 to surface employers who have filed LCAs for strategy roles before, which is the clearest signal that a company understands and supports the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Strategy Lead role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business, economics, finance, or a related discipline. The key is that the degree requirement must be tied to the position itself. Generalist leadership roles where any degree qualifies can fail the specialty occupation test, so your offer letter should specify the required field of study.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Strategy Lead roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any point in the year once you have an offer. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 per year and subject to a random lottery, which means most applicants wait months for a selection result with no guarantee. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is almost always the faster and more predictable path to a Strategy Lead role in the U.S.
Can I transfer my E-3 to a new employer if I change strategy roles?
Yes, but the process restarts from scratch. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL, and you'll need a new visa stamp if yours has expired or if you leave the U.S. If you're already in the U.S. in valid E-3 status, you can begin working for the new employer as soon as the new LCA is certified, without waiting for a new visa stamp at a consulate.
