Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Insurance Consultant
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation
Your Australian bachelor's degree must directly relate to the insurance role, not just any business degree. A three-year Australian degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes, but have your transcripts ready to confirm the field of study.
Target insurers with existing LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify carriers, brokerages, and managing general agents that have filed LCAs for insurance or financial analyst roles. Prior filings signal a compliant HR team that already understands the E-3 process.
Use Migrate Mate to find E-3 sponsorship roles
Searching for Insurance Consultant positions that include E-3 visa sponsorship is faster when the results are filtered for that specifically. Use Migrate Mate to search roles where employers are open to sponsoring Australian professionals.
Clarify your role qualifies before accepting an offer
General sales or account management titles can blur the specialty occupation line if the job description doesn't require a specific degree field. Ask the employer to confirm the role will be classified under a specialty occupation SOC code before you proceed to LCA filing.
Get the LCA certified before your consulate appointment
The DOL must certify the Labor Condition Application before you can attend your E-3 interview. DOL targets a seven-business-day certification window, but delays happen. Time your offer acceptance and interview booking to allow at least three weeks for LCA processing.
Streamline filing with Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service
Insurance employers unfamiliar with E-3 sponsorship often stall at the LCA stage. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end, reducing the friction that causes employers to withdraw offers mid-process.

Find Insurance Consultant JobsInsurance Consultant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Insurance Consultant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Insurance Consultant roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job searches rarely filter by visa type, so you can waste weeks applying to roles where sponsorship was never on the table. Migrate Mate surfaces positions relevant to Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship, cutting that guesswork out of the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Insurance Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as finance, risk management, actuarial science, or business. The qualifier is the word 'requires': if the employer would accept any degree or substitute years of experience freely, the role may not meet the specialty occupation standard. A well-drafted job description tied to a relevant SOC code strengthens the case significantly.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Insurance Consultant roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual lottery and no numerical cap, so you can apply any time of year and start work as soon as your visa is approved. The H-1B is subject to an oversubscribed lottery that selects fewer than one in three registrants. For Australian insurance professionals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path into U.S. employment.
Can I switch insurance employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp reflecting the new position. Unlike H-1B portability, there's no formal transfer mechanism, so plan for a two-to-four week DOL certification window and a consulate appointment before you start with the new firm. Some Australians manage the transition by scheduling the new interview during a planned trip home.
