Verify your degree meets specialty occupation
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but your field of study must align with your Salesforce Architect role. A degree in commerce with no IT coursework won't support a technical architecture position.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify companies that have certified LCAs for Salesforce or CRM architecture roles. Employers already familiar with the LCA process move significantly faster once you have an offer.
Clarify your Salesforce certifications early in outreach
Certifications like Salesforce Certified Technical Architect or Application Architect directly strengthen the specialty occupation argument your employer's LCA must make. Lead with these credentials when approaching hiring managers, not just in your resume's skills section.
Request E-3 sponsorship before accepting an offer
Raise E-3 sponsorship requirements during the offer stage, not after signing. The employer must file the LCA with DOL before you can apply at the consulate, so confirming their willingness to sponsor early prevents a costly restart if they're unprepared.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the process
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from start to consulate appointment. This is especially useful if your employer's HR team has no prior E-3 experience, which is common outside major tech firms.
Prepare for consular questions about your architecture scope
Consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a degree. Be ready to explain the technical decision-making responsibilities of a Salesforce Architect, including integration design, platform governance, and cross-functional stakeholder management, in plain language.
E-3 Visa Salesforce Architect: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Salesforce Architect jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you waste time applying to positions where the employer has no sponsorship infrastructure. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers are already set up to file an LCA and support the E-3 process for Salesforce Architect candidates.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Salesforce Architect role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Salesforce Architect positions consistently qualify because they require a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field, such as computer science, software engineering, or information systems. The role involves complex integration design, platform architecture decisions, and enterprise CRM governance, all of which satisfy the specialty occupation standard. A generic 'bachelor's degree preferred' job description can undermine the case, so verify the posting requires a degree in a relevant discipline.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Salesforce Architects?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual lottery. H-1B visa selection is randomised each April, meaning a qualified Salesforce Architect can go unselected for years. The E-3's 10,500-slot annual cap has never been reached, so you can apply at any time of year. Both visas require employer sponsorship and an LCA, but the E-3 path is far more predictable for planning a U.S. career move.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Salesforce Architect?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp unless you're using a change of employer within a valid I-94 period. There's no transfer mechanism like H-1B portability. If you're between roles, the E-3 doesn't carry a formal grace period in the same way, so timing your start date carefully with your new employer's filing timeline matters.
