Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Motion Designer
Align your portfolio to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your portfolio needs to demonstrate degree-level creative direction, not just execution. Employers and USCIS assess whether the role requires a specific bachelor's degree, so showcase projects that reflect theoretical design knowledge alongside technical output.
Verify your Australian degree meets USCIS equivalency
A three-year Australian bachelor's in visual communication or animation is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree. If your qualification is in a related but non-identical field, gather a credential evaluation before you start applying.
Target studios with established international hiring pipelines
Production studios, broadcast networks, and in-house brand teams at larger companies file LCAs more routinely than boutique freelance shops. Searching DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data shows which employers have sponsored design and media roles before.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have an offer, the LCA and DS-160 preparation are where applications stall. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, so neither you nor your employer needs to navigate DOL and USCIS requirements independently.
Negotiate your start date around consulate appointment availability
E-3 applicants attend an in-person consulate interview in Australia before entering the U.S. Appointment wait times at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary by season. Build at least four to six weeks between your signed offer and your proposed start date.

Find Motion Designer JobsMotion Designer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Motion Designer jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters Motion Designer roles by employers who have a demonstrated history of E-3 or LCA filings for design and media positions, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored a visa. You can search by role, location, and sponsorship track record in one place.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Motion Designer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as graphic design, visual communication, animation, or a closely related discipline. Roles where any background is acceptable, or where the degree requirement is listed as a preference rather than a requirement, are harder to support. The job description your employer writes matters, and it should reflect the theoretical and technical knowledge the role demands.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Motion Designer roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian nationals and has a 10,500-slot annual allocation that has never been fully used, meaning there is no lottery. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 slots annually and is subject to a random selection process that rejects the majority of applicants. For an Australian Motion Designer, the E-3 is a direct path that can move from job offer to consulate approval in under eight weeks in most cases.
Can I switch employers or studios while on an E-3 as a Motion Designer?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you will need a new E-3 visa stamp if you leave the country, or a change of status if you are already in the U.S. You can begin working for a new employer once the new LCA is certified and the visa paperwork is in order. There is no portability provision for the E-3 the way AC21 works for H-1B holders.
