E-3 Visa Product Design Lead Jobs
Product Design Lead roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field. About Rippling
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.
About the role
Every year, employers and employees spend over $5 trillion on benefits globally. From health insurance to saving for retirement, these benefits products guide families through some of the most important and impactful decisions in life. Despite the significance of these products and the dollars spent, the experience is still painfully antiquated, expensive, and confusing.
Rippling is building the first modern multi-sided marketplace that seamlessly connects brokers, employers, and employees with any benefit—our platform powers the discovery, purchase, and use of benefits products around the world. Our benefits vertical includes our Benefits Platform (recommendations, payments, and our benefits eligibility engine), our rapidly growing Benefits Marketplace of over 100 partners, and our natively-built Rippling Benefits Products.
Design plays an essential role in ensuring the product is easy to use, flexible, and powerful, helping free up smart people to work on hard problems for their organizations rather than the busy work that often comes with their jobs. We hold design to a higher standard than others in the industry, and it’s core to Rippling’s vision. The user experience is essential in building trust with our customers so they can feel confident that important aspects of their business run without fail for their employees. As designers, you’re responsible for creating these experiences that solve real everyday problems for employees and companies by designing surprisingly great products for them.
We’re looking for a Product Designer who is passionate about helping businesses and their employees succeed in their missions by helping them run more effectively.
What you will do
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for new and existing features and products
- Design new 0-1 products, improve and expand new products, and execute tactical deliverables
- Design fully featured product experiences that provide power and flexibility, but simultaneously provide simplicity and ease of use
- Partner closely with our user research team, collaborate and support UX research projects, and use research findings in design work
- Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design and company leadership
- Understand the array of technical constraints and capabilities, user goals, and business requirements that shape a product
- Work with Engineering to ensure quality implementation and product launches
- Work closely with designers on your team to develop and expand the product design system
What you will need
- 6+ years of professional product design experience with a track record of shipping complex, high-impact products end to end, from planning to QA
- Proven ability to transform complexity into elegant simplicity, whether in fintech, enterprise software, or other demanding domains
- Strong craft skills with proficiency in design tools and the ability to create compelling, detailed design specifications and prototypes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; you can articulate design decisions clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Relentless customer focus; you dig deep to understand real user needs and translate those insights into design decisions that solve meaningful problems
- Self-starter mentality with a bias toward action; you thrive in fast-paced environments and turn ambiguity into clarity through thoughtful design exploration
- Familiarity with generative AI design tools and excitement about how they can expand creative possibilities and accelerate workflow

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Product Design Lead
Align your portfolio to U.S. design standards
Reframe your case studies around business outcomes and cross-functional collaboration, not just visual craft. U.S. hiring managers for lead roles expect evidence of team leadership, design systems ownership, and product strategy influence.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification Data Center for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for design or UX roles. Past LCA filings signal a company already understands the E-3 sponsorship process and won't be starting from scratch.
Clarify your degree equivalency before interviews
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Have your official transcripts ready and be prepared to explain the equivalency to HR teams unfamiliar with the Australian system.
Negotiate sponsorship into your offer letter early
Once you receive a verbal offer, confirm the employer will file the LCA and support your E-3 application before signing anything. Waiting until the written offer stage to raise sponsorship can create delays or expose gaps in the employer's willingness to proceed.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
After your offer is signed, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles your LCA, visa paperwork, and consulate preparation end-to-end. This removes the burden from both you and your employer and keeps the process moving without unnecessary back-and-forth.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent scrutiny at your interview
Consular officers assess whether your ties to Australia and intent to return are credible. Bring documentation of your professional commitment to the role, the employer's business need for a design lead, and any ongoing Australian ties such as property or family.

Find Product Design Lead JobsProduct Design Lead E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Product Design Lead jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking U.S. roles with E-3 visa sponsorship. You can search Product Design Lead positions filtered by employers who have a history of sponsoring E-3 or similar work visas, which removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Product Design Lead role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as design, human-computer interaction, visual communication, or a closely related discipline. A job description that accepts any degree, or no degree at all, would fail the specialty occupation test. Your employer's offer letter and the LCA must both reflect the degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Product Design Lead roles?
Both visas require a specialty occupation and a U.S. employer sponsor, but the E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and has no lottery. H-1B registrations are capped at 85,000 per year and selected by random ballot, meaning you could go unselected for multiple years. The E-3's 10,500 annual allocation has never been exhausted, so you can apply any time you have a qualifying offer.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a design lead?
Changing employers requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA and you to obtain a new E-3 visa, either through a consulate appointment or a change of status from within the U.S. A promotion that changes your job title or duties significantly may also require an updated LCA to reflect the revised role, even with the same employer.
