Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Staff Product Designer
Translate your portfolio for U.S. hiring managers
Australian design credentials are respected, but U.S. recruiters look for systems-thinking evidence at staff-plus levels. Frame your portfolio around cross-functional influence, design system ownership, and measurable product outcomes rather than visual craft alone.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for product designer or UX roles. Prior LCA activity signals an employer already understands the E-3 sponsorship process and won't need educating from scratch.
Clarify E-3 sponsorship early in the process
Raise E-3 sponsorship once you reach the hiring manager or recruiter screen, not after an offer. Senior Staff roles involve long interview loops; knowing their willingness before investing weeks saves both sides time.
Confirm your degree field supports the role
E-3 specialty occupation requires your degree to relate directly to the position. A bachelor's in industrial design, HCI, or computer science supports a Senior Staff Product Designer LCA. A degree in an unrelated field requires a credentials evaluation from a DOL-recognized credential evaluator.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your LCA
The LCA must be certified by DOL before your visa interview. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end, so your employer doesn't need a separate immigration attorney to get the process started.
Prepare for consulate questions about design scope
Consular officers assess whether your role genuinely qualifies as a specialty occupation. Bring your job offer letter, a brief role description confirming degree requirements, and portfolio evidence of work that could not be performed without specialized tertiary-level training.

Find Senior Staff Product Designer JobsSenior Staff Product Designer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Staff Product Designer jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship roles in the United States. You can filter by job title and see which employers have a track record of sponsoring Australians, so you're not applying blind. Senior Staff Product Designer roles are listed across tech, fintech, and enterprise software sectors.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Staff Product Designer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as product design, human-computer interaction, industrial design, or computer science. The role must be defined in the job offer as requiring that specific theoretical and practical knowledge. Generalist roles where any degree is accepted may face LCA scrutiny.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Senior Staff Product Designer roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no cap, so you can apply any time a qualifying offer exists. H-1B registrations are entered into a randomised lottery in March each year, and selection is not guaranteed. For a Senior Staff Product Designer with an offer in hand, the E-3 is a direct path without the lottery wait or the risk of non-selection.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Senior Staff Product Designer?
Yes, but you cannot start working for the new employer until a new LCA is certified by DOL and a new E-3 visa is issued or a change of status is approved. There is no portability provision like the one that exists under AC21 for H-1B holders, so plan for a gap between roles or time the transition carefully with your new employer.
